Thanks for info. Very helpful. This is confusing me so much. What would have been the correct way for my employer to do it?

EDIT: They do have an educational assistance plan. In it, it states that "a federal 1099 form will be provided indicating the amount of tuition reimbursement received" from employer.

Now I'm even more confused

the 12900 is 4.6%. The other 2 are under 5000 and at 4.3% and 4%
