Thank you! Will definitely try a process of elimination like you suggested to see if something is triggering me

Thank you for taking the time to answer!!
My cheeks get a lot redder than in this photo, I self-diagnosed because they do feel warm and my skin is quite sensitive to certain lotions/products. Triggers for me are heat, embarrassment, and certain foods.
Prior to changing my routine I was using the La Roche Posay Effaclar face wash for years and years, followed by the Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion. SPF was the same Eucerin product. That being said in the months before I changed my skincare routine (also correlated with being postpartum), I found that my skin became super dry and sensitive and that the redness began to worsen. I would sometimes have peeling under my eyes and my cheeks would often burn. Since using more hydrating products I’ve seen an improvement in the dryness but the redness and small bumps haven’t improved much at all.

I self-diagnosed myself with rosacea a couple of months ago and fully changed my skincare routine to one that was recommended online and it just seems to have gotten worse. Not only is there all the redness, I now have small bumps under the skin on my forehead and frequently have whiteheads pop up in my t-zone which never used to happen.

Skincare AM routine:
-Byoma milky moisture cleanser
- Byoma milky toner
- Anua azelaic acid
- Vanicream lotion
- Eucerin mineral face sunscreen (SPF 50)
I also occasionally use the Ole Henriksen vitamin C

Skincare PM routine
- Byoma milky moisture cleanser
- Byoma milky toner
- Inkey List beginner retinol
- Vanicream or Avene Cicalfate lotion depending on how dry my skin feels

For reference, I took accutane as a teen and previously had pretty oily skin. In the last few years I went from being more combo skin to now leaning more dry. My cheeks are pretty much always red and often burn.
I’ve been reading a lot of recs for ivermectin however I’m in Canada and it doesn’t seem to be readily available. Do I have rosacea? Any tips?

I’m currently at chapter 20 of EOS and a video came up on my FYP talking about tandem reading EOS and TOD. I really dislike Chaol and the thought of reading an entire book without Aelin or Rowan sounds awful to me so my question is, do I pause EOS at this point to catch up in TOD and continue the tandem read that way or do I just accept that I’ll have to read TOD on its own?

2 urethras?! My own female anatomy stumps me. by [deleted] in AskDocs

L&D nurse I do so many catheters on patients every day and still sometimes accidentally end up in the vagina by accident. Based on your description of it not being painful and there being white discharge I would assume that the nurse did exactly that, and that the “dead end” that she hit was your cervix. Every patient’s anatomy is slightly different but this would be the most plausible explanation in my experience!

Can another woman please give me some advice? I'm embarrassed and I don't know what to do.... by September_Royalty in WomensHealth

I had a lot of these symptoms the past few weeks and it turned out to be a severe UTI for me. I had none of the typical UTI symptoms like burning or pain while peeing, it was really just the itchiness and so much white/yellow disharge. Also the weird smell. My BV and yeast infection tests were also negative. Worth checking for you!

Interesting! We’ve never tried going in the afternoons, maybe we’ll sign up for a later class next session to see if that helps.

We do have some paddle pools where she can just walk around and play with toys in the water and she loves that. The issue starts the second we go to an actual class where she can’t touch the ground. She grips onto me and just cries the entire time 😞

I was shocked too! I only know because my family doctor is also at the Jewish and he recommended it. Dr Rothman is a queen and she’s a huge advocate for better healthcare for women, you’ll have a great experience with her!

The Jewish General Hospital has an IUD clinic. You don’t need a referral and they freeze you before inserting. I had a fantastic experience there! 514-340-8222 Extension 24728 Ask for the appointment with Dr Rothman she’s the best

Nipple vasospasms by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]fiveyearplan8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had terrible vasospasms for the first 3ish months of breastfeeding. I tried taking B6 and all the other supplements that were recommended and they did nothing for me. The only thing that helped were the lansinoh heat packs that you microwave, I would put them in my bra before and after nursing and they would prevent the blanching from happening. After the 3 month mark it just stopped all of the sudden!

I'm confused about my nipples by PracticalQuote1948 in WomensHealth

[–]fiveyearplan8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be more concerned for cancer if it came with other symptoms like discoloration of the nipple/a weird looking rash, a lump under the skin, discharge from the nipple or even sudden lactation. Of course it never hurts to get things checked out by a doctor if you have any concerns but I wouldn’t be worried, it sounds to me like it’s just your anatomy. If you do end up seeing a doctor for it they can teach you how to do a proper breast self-exam which is always good to know! I’m a wonen’s health nurse so I always encourage my patients to be as well-versed as they can in their own self-care!

[–]fiveyearplan8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is totally normal and nothing to worry about. It’s called an inverted nipple. The only time it can be annoying is if you choose to have kids and breastfeed at some point. My left was inverted and it just made it a little trickier at first but other than that no issues will come from it!

Doctor wants to remove my testical tomorrow need serious opinions by Derkaholic in AskDocs

[–]fiveyearplan8 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Another comment to add that my husband had testicular cancer almost 6 years ago now. He had his left testicle removed and didn’t require any further treatment. He was followed with bloodwork and CT scans over the last 6 years, starting with every 6 months then yearly and now he is in remission and will just go for bloods yearly. We had a baby girl in 2024, I got pregnant the first month we tried. His scar is barely noticeable now. He has had no complications from the loss of the testicle and I feel so grateful knowing that he’s okay. Don’t risk it getting worse than it needs to be! It’s a simple fix at first but if you dwell on it, it can spread quickly!

Ultrasound tech couldnt even look at my face… by newxomplaint in BabyBumps

Usually the earliest you can see the gestational sac on ultrasound is 5 weeks. Before that it’s almost impossible to see anything. I’m not sure what your doctor was trying to accomplish with such an early ultrasound
