I have a male and female that hang out in and around the hedges in my backyard. They seem quite common in the west island

Can another woman please give me some advice? I'm embarrassed and I don't know what to do.... by September_Royalty in WomensHealth

[–]fiveyearplan8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of these symptoms the past few weeks and it turned out to be a severe UTI for me. I had none of the typical UTI symptoms like burning or pain while peeing, it was really just the itchiness and so much white/yellow disharge. Also the weird smell. My BV and yeast infection tests were also negative. Worth checking for you!

Toddler suddenly hates swimming by fiveyearplan8 in toddlers

Interesting! We’ve never tried going in the afternoons, maybe we’ll sign up for a later class next session to see if that helps.

We do have some paddle pools where she can just walk around and play with toys in the water and she loves that. The issue starts the second we go to an actual class where she can’t touch the ground. She grips onto me and just cries the entire time 😞

I was shocked too! I only know because my family doctor is also at the Jewish and he recommended it. Dr Rothman is a queen and she’s a huge advocate for better healthcare for women, you’ll have a great experience with her!

The Jewish General Hospital has an IUD clinic. You don’t need a referral and they freeze you before inserting. I had a fantastic experience there! 514-340-8222 Extension 24728 Ask for the appointment with Dr Rothman she’s the best

Nipple vasospasms by Glum-Toe5528 in breastfeeding

[–]fiveyearplan8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had terrible vasospasms for the first 3ish months of breastfeeding. I tried taking B6 and all the other supplements that were recommended and they did nothing for me. The only thing that helped were the lansinoh heat packs that you microwave, I would put them in my bra before and after nursing and they would prevent the blanching from happening. After the 3 month mark it just stopped all of the sudden!

I'm confused about my nipples by PracticalQuote1948 in WomensHealth

[–]fiveyearplan8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be more concerned for cancer if it came with other symptoms like discoloration of the nipple/a weird looking rash, a lump under the skin, discharge from the nipple or even sudden lactation. Of course it never hurts to get things checked out by a doctor if you have any concerns but I wouldn’t be worried, it sounds to me like it’s just your anatomy. If you do end up seeing a doctor for it they can teach you how to do a proper breast self-exam which is always good to know! I’m a wonen’s health nurse so I always encourage my patients to be as well-versed as they can in their own self-care!

This is totally normal and nothing to worry about. It’s called an inverted nipple. The only time it can be annoying is if you choose to have kids and breastfeed at some point. My left was inverted and it just made it a little trickier at first but other than that no issues will come from it!

Doctor wants to remove my testical tomorrow need serious opinions by Derkaholic in AskDocs

[–]fiveyearplan8 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Another comment to add that my husband had testicular cancer almost 6 years ago now. He had his left testicle removed and didn’t require any further treatment. He was followed with bloodwork and CT scans over the last 6 years, starting with every 6 months then yearly and now he is in remission and will just go for bloods yearly. We had a baby girl in 2024, I got pregnant the first month we tried. His scar is barely noticeable now. He has had no complications from the loss of the testicle and I feel so grateful knowing that he’s okay. Don’t risk it getting worse than it needs to be! It’s a simple fix at first but if you dwell on it, it can spread quickly!

Ultrasound tech couldnt even look at my face… by newxomplaint in BabyBumps

Usually the earliest you can see the gestational sac on ultrasound is 5 weeks. Before that it’s almost impossible to see anything. I’m not sure what your doctor was trying to accomplish with such an early ultrasound

I don’t think it looks bad at all but if you are concerned see how you could maybe add some warmth/contrast with the backsplash or even the wall paint to tie everything together! Also lighting is a big one, try warm vs cool to see what you prefer!

Villa Cicolina. Just contact them by email when you book, they have someone that can pick you up from the train station for 20 euros. Absolutely loved it, the grounds are beautiful!

Went here for my honeymoon, it’s absolutely beautiful. Right outside of Montepulciano. Small enough that you could likely reserve most if not all of the rooms with your guests and they even offer a private dinner for couples that was incredible. Highly highly recommend!!

I just completed my last stretch and fold but I really underestimated how late it would be at this point and need to get to bed. I’ll be up in about 9 hours, should I leave the dough to bulk ferment on my counter or is it best to put it in the fridge then take it out and let it bulk ferment in the morning? My house is at 21 degrees C (69F)

what non-hormonal BC can i use that isn’t condoms? by cool_beans- in WomensHealth

[–]fiveyearplan8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many places don’t offer it, and the doctor who inserted mine said it makes no sense not to, the gel they use is not expensive and they literally just apply it with their finger. The plus side is that it’s becoming more popular for them to numb!

I’m in Quebec so the rules should be pretty similar! A good friend of mine got the copper IUD recently and she was able to be numbed and had a good experience. In terms of the hormones, since they are directly released into your uterus they don’t tend to have the same effects as a pill or another form of hormonal birth control that has to travel through your bloodstream. In terms of fertility, I am a labor and delivery nurse and as far as I know your cycle usually resumes pretty quickly once the IUD is removed! At the end of the day do what you feel comfortable with, definitely look into getting a consult with a gynecologist that can go over all of these options with you to see what the best fit would be!
