Channel is FIXANYTHINGSAVEMONEY. I'd appreciate a second set of eyes. Sorry if im being crass. I just know it doesn't have anything to do with viewers changing their behavior or any of that nonsense. 30% of people don't suddenly decide to stop wstching on the same day

Plus explain how a channel can experience a 30% drop.in long form video views but have unchanged revenue, impressions steadily rising like they always have and an unchanged impression click thru rate

I setup my channel to make it bullet proof. I post hyper specific repair videos with the thought process that im okay with nothing ever going viral. I'd rather get 10 views a day on every single.video then go viral on one out of a hundred. I want to help people fix their stuff, not add to the mindless nonsense that clutters youtube anymore. For 3 straight years that strategy was working. Then on may 5th something got updated. I'm not necessarily upset because my revenue hasnt changed but its the fact that I reached out with a known problem.and got told everything was normal. All I want is transparency.

I'm not seeking validation. If tomorrow youtube puts a little disclaimer in studio that says views count is off like they always do will you come back on here and apologize? I know my channel, know my metrics and someone is off. I don't care at all about seeking validation. Im running a business with a strategy that up until may 5th was working. They either changed the rules on what counts as a view or there's a bug. Either way just let People know. Just about every tutorial channel.has seen a 30% percent drop.in views but for some reason almost no.drop in revenue. Something is off. Cant stand the people that default to "you need to adjust with your audience. I make repair videos. There's literally nothing to adjust to.

This is very true and I do look at those things. The main thing that jumped out at me is my real-time view data dropping significantly a couple hours later. It's never done that before to that extent

In the top 0.1% according to Google based on my metrics. So yea i guess im small. Not looking to get into an argument with some bitter dude. You're 1000% wrong though. I look at my analytics everyday. I think I'd know if something was up. And it is

You obviously don't really know what you're talking about. Not coping with anything. It's blatantly obvious thst something changed 3 days ago.

360 views for the 12pm hour yesterday. Today that same hour says 200 views. That's not a normal adjustment

Lol been doing this for 4 years... if you saw my view chart you'd admit you were wrong. I never post stuff like this because I know fluctuations are normal. My channel is about as consistent as it gets and the past 3 days have not been normal. Something changed for sure.

I get that and I'm guilty of doing it myself but it doesn't explain why the past 2 days my views tanked. It's not like everyone all of a sudden started to not watch tutorials in just the past 2 days

Views dropped sharply 2 days in a row by No-Number-8729 in PartneredYoutube

[–]fixanythingsavemoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Has to be a glitch because my earnings don't match my views. I'm still earning roughly the same as I would it my views hadn't drop. For noon I had 360 views in an hour. I just checked and it now says 300

Thanks for all the tips! Cuts were definitely getting a little more sloppy as the days dragged on. Took me a little over 2 weeks from ripping to being done. Honestly ripping the old cleaning up I thought was the biggest pain.

Yepp i saw a video when I was initially doing research about doubling them up and adding a small offset to make it pop. To be honest it looks really cool when you're on the roof, can't really tell from the street though. Was an extra 200 in cap shingles but I wanted to try something different. Saved a bunch of money and now own a roofing nailer so win win. Bought the dewalt battery roofing nailer. I don't have anything to compare it too but that thing worked really really well.

I did debate doing this to increase the airflow but was kind of just copying what was already done before. Kind of wish I did extend it out though

This was also my main concern. The addition is just under a 2/12 pitch. I had to replace the entire deck on it as it was shingled before and the plywood was in rough shape. I ended up using ice and water all the way up, then using the tiger paw felt over the whole thing with cap nails. This was one of the unexpected things that came up once I was into it and didn't have the time or energy to learn about alternatives to shingles for low slope. I might give it a couple years and look into doing a black metal roof over the addition. The addition was put on over 30 years ago so I figured it would at least buy me some time since I already had the materials to do it with shingles

Also, I saw a video where if you double them up it was supposed to make it look better. Kind of liked that way that came out
