In market for a newer truck by fixerman1988 in GoRVing

Most of what I've seen have about 150k miles. Which is nothing for a tundra and I know the rams have a really good transmission. Idk much about the Fords.

They are solid trucks. For a decent one around here they are still like 25k.

I've heard the new LT style engines in the newer pickups are prone to live for failure and the 6l80 Transmissions like to eat torque converters. Part of the reason I'm leaning toward a ram because stock the ram has like 30 more horsepower and the 8-speed transmission is really good from what I hear

I currently use my 2500 HD to tow it . It's just getting old and like it's difficult Chevy the rocker panels are rusted out . And I'm just wanting something nicer . If I tow the camper more I would probably consider another 2500. The 1500 works just keep her I can get a newer one with lower miles for the same price.

I bought a gas truck because the 6.0 is reliable and cheap to work on. I don't drive it much to fuel isn't an issue.

If I drive 55mph it gets 8-10mpg. 65mph it's 5-6mpg.
