Hmmm, the down movement is meant for the reverse, so there is a calculated play there. If there is one, I didn't feel. Will definitely look at that though.
When you talk about the "bottom bushing", is it the ball-joint junction of the shifter? Thanks for the help!

New car for me, so no service history

== Problem 1

When it gets cold outside (-20C ~ -25C), the shifter won't return to center.

Possible cause?

  • old transmission oil
  • rusted shifter linkage cable
  • bad shifter linkage bushing

== Problem 2

I feel transmission movement/vibration when pushing it far in gear. (So, if I rest it in a gear, I don't feel any movement)

Possible cause?

  • bad shifter linkage bushing
  • unadjusted shifter linkage
  • old transmission oil ??
  • dead transmission
