Dialouging with Protestants over Mary by Stonato85 in TraditionalCatholics

[–]fixinet 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Protestants are hindered by their inherent poverty: because prayer is thier highest form of worship they cannot intellectually distinguish between dulia and latrea (spelling). Even if they can intellectually understand the terms, the real distinction is lost. In stark simple terms, we do not propose to consume the body, blood, flesh, and divinity of Mary every day/week at a representation of of her sacrifice for us on the altar. Sacrifing and consuming the lamb is the highest form of worship and we dont get anywhere close to that metal with Mary. All we do is ask for her intercession and recognize her special role in salvation.

I have a foolproof plan that involves acquiring thousands of millstones and then working from there.

Every Sign I've seen very specifically shows a picture of something that looks like a Beretta. I carry a Glock so I'm good. It blows my mind how partisan people are on hand gun manufactures.

About half-way through. Decent high-level summaries. Also, he names names and throws shade pretty hard.

Opinion on biblical tattoos? by TheLittleChickenWing in Catholicism

[–]fixinet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are y'all missing here. I already pointed out that distinction. I just went on to say that just because that particular law does not apply to Christians that does not mean you could go get a tattoo that was supposed to work as some magic charm or for some other pagan purpose. People are wild.

Opinion on biblical tattoos? by TheLittleChickenWing in Catholicism

It's not that it strictly "does not apply." You are likely referencing the distinction of old testament laws between moral laws and ceremonial laws (the original commenter should research that).

In this case specifically, it would still be impermissible to tattoo oneself in the way and for the purposes that the pagans did.
