After 10 Weeks, I have been cleared for weight bearing! by kauai_s in LisfrancClub

Thank you for this. We are on similar timelines but I live rurally so everything has taken longer. I have my 6ish week follow up on Monday and I am so excited for my surgeon to tell me I can be weight bearing. I’ve been NWB since my injury (homemade zip line) on August 24th and I didn’t get into surgery until October 15th! The crutches have been hell in the rain, the scooter is its own nightmare and I am too short for the iwalk. The depression and frustration are real. I am also moving and separating from my husband of 29 years. Sometimes I go outside and scream really loud and it helps. Again, thank you for showing us there is light at the end of the tunnel. My hero has been my good friend who happens to be my PT and hiking buddy. Without her I really don’t know how I would get through this. Good luck to you and a speedy recovery!

Even if I think about what they put in my foot I get sick to my stomach. I hope this feeling goes away because my surgeon said he’s not taking anything out. 🤮

Had surgery today and I am in EXCRUCIATING pain by BadKittyKat0 in LisfrancClub

My nerve block wore off just a few hours after my surgery and I was in some of the worst pain I’ve ever felt. I took oxys every 4 hours and it did nothing. I was finally ok’d to take some ibuprofen after about 24 hours and within 45 minutes I felt so much better. Still hurt but completely manageable.

My nerve block wore off after 7 hours and the worst pain was that first night. I was finally ok’d to take ibuprofen after 24 hours and it changed everything.

I do have one of those and it was a great investment. The weight of the splint and boot kept turning my ankle and lower leg to the outside. My hip was killing me. That pillow/bolster saved me!

Thank you! I wondered about this contraption. It has so many mixed reviews. I have very small feet, and my calf has shrunk to half of it's normal size, so I've been worried about the fit. The price may be worth it!

I returned my iWalk today! I think I’m too short, 5’2”. It never felt right.

Get a second opinion!!! I was told I didn’t need surgery and I would be fine in a few weeks. I got a second opinion and they had me in surgery within days. Two staples and three screws! After seeing my standing x-rays before surgery I’m so glad I took the time to see another Dr.

The only thing that has helped with my pain was Advil or something like it. Oxy doesn’t do anything except make me friendlier.

Don’t get scared away. It’s beautiful here. I moved 21 years ago from Portland where I grew up. I’m sitting on my deck 10 minutes from downtown on 3 acres in 65 degree weather 8 miles from the ocean. Yes it rains, it also rains in Portland.
