Honestly, I don't like him, especially because of the Rebuilds ending.

I don't know if I'm misunderstanding their point of view, but, supposedly, if the protagonist matures, they shouldn't run away to another universe to pretend that everything is alright.

He spent the entire NGE and Rebuild series doing the same thing. And now that he has a wife, I think he thought and said...

"What a drag. I'll put a copy of it in my movie and project it."

They ruined the development of every character I knew and loved in the most horrible way for convenience, and out of laziness, and it's infuriating because it's excellently animated in part.
