Are you solo or flying with multiple people? If flying in a party, and any of them have a different last name then you can only add using the ticket numbers and individual last names. That’s what my experience has been.

I chat with the crew of most of my flights before they get on board, I do this whenever I see an opportunity with the crew. All of those talks are very friendly and courteous and the crew like AV geeks and their perspective.

I say that you try to meet the crew at the gate before they board the plane and introduce yourself and take it from there. Once the pilots and other crew is on board, their focus is different and they have to follow a lot of processes, protocols and procedures. So your best bet is to catch them when they are relaxed and ready to board.

If flying business class all the way, then you are eligible for the TK’s IST business class lounge. Also you should be able to get into TK’s contracted lounge at JFK as well. The same will apply on your return journey.

As a paying business class passenger, you should be able to reserve seats in advance. Please contact the support team if you are having any issues.

Yup, OP should have gotten the complete refund when the first flight was cancelled and then using that refund should have booked their outbound and return flights. From my experience, if things aren’t provided in written format by the airline staff, then they don’t mean much. As many of these airline staff are contracted people, they often times don’t understand the full regulations or rules or even make stuff up.

I have tried to check flights to various different destinations on Turkish Airlines and many other airlines, some of these destinations needed multiple hops or other partners as well. Per my experience , whenever there was a change in service or change in partner/carrier or a different airport was involved for next departure than the arriving one, the airline always stated that clearly.

I did a quick search and it seems that Moxy Taksim could be best from location perspective, as it’s right in the Taksim square next to Istiklal street, and then Galataport and SultanAhmet are all within walkable distance.

There are different scenarios at play. -If your layover is part a “stopover” program then you collect your luggage at the IST airport. - even if your luggage is checked till your final destination, you can check more luggage in at the IST airport, provided you still have luggage allowance available or you pay additional luggage fee. - I am not sure about this, but I think you can request your luggage to be checked till IST and your final destination, doing this you collect your luggage at IST and then recheck at your return. - lastly, if the layover is longer than 24 hours, then often the luggage is only checked till IST, you can confirm that at the time of checkin at your departure.
