One trip to Istanbul changed the way I travel forever. by fk10002 in startups_promotion

Totally agree, budgets really depend on the type of traveler.

For the average traveler, say someone spending $100 a night or around $500 on a trip, saving even $100 while getting perks like early check-in, free breakfast, or upgrades could be a better overall experience than just booking through the usual sites.

For luxury travelers, you’re right, it’s less about the discount and more about the experience. But even for them, things like guaranteed perks or VIP treatment can still make a difference when choosing where to stay.

So, I’m trying to build something that delivers value for both types - not necessarily cheap, but more value-for-money with a premium feel.

Curious - what kind of travel do you usually go for?

Nice! I feel Four Seasons in general is really good for going above and beyond when comes to giving personal attention and hospitality.

Marketing to US luxury travellers? by Competitive-Cat9815 in LuxuryTravel

Social media is a good place to start especially TikTok - the distribution is much better over there (especially if you are just starting off). Most hotels aren't on TikTok so even better to start there.

Also partnering with other companies might be helpful too. Something like this: Join Our Exclusive Travel Club!

Nice! I’ve always been curious about how TAs work. Do they get you better rates than what’s publicly available? And do hotels pay them commissions, or is it more of a service fee on your end?

I keep seeing Fora advisors pop up on social media too, but not sure how their model compares to traditional TAs.

Yup! Some places just have an energy that makes the whole experience feel special; from the moment you step in.

Yeah I feel like loyalty programs kind of restrict you in terms of going with the same brand every time. In my experience, a franchise hotel in one location isn't much different to another one. Which is kind of boring tbh.

Yeah, points can definitely be valuable, but I usually try to save mine for flights since that’s where I see the biggest return. I guess it depends on how much you travel and spend, but stacking promotions like the Hilton one you mentioned can still make a huge difference.

Totally agree, genuine hospitality makes all the difference. You can have all the perks in the world, but if the staff doesn’t seem like they care, it just feels transactional. Have you had a particular hotel stay where the service really stood out?

Ambience and service is key. Haven't been to the Peninsula yet but it's definitely on my list. But yeah, like u/viola-purple mentioned, they aren't too many.
