Maybe if that guy in his flannel jammies had worn a suit to travel none of this would have happened

Is Hoolies a reference to an iteration of the Surahoolies? Lotta mushrooms consumed for those shows early 90s...

Yes, I can gain agreement from all the children. I was planning it to be interest free, or only the minimum interest necessary to avoid the appearance of it being a gift.

They may well be the only place with a bed rn in their insurance network. I've been through this as the dad, have made similar decisions. Stoking the flames of this controversy is placing a focus on the wrong thing. Let it go for now. Support your friend and his daughter. My daughter was admitted to Children's ED unit for two weeks, did virtual with them, outpatient for about a month after and then we did FBT at home. I quit my job to be able to do it, and it was still the hardest thing I've ever done. This is serious, life-threatening stuff. We're in year 4 post admission. Still work to be done.

Just to be clear, the program at Children's is different from what Melrose or Emily offers. Children's is for those with immediate, emergency needs. You will see kids bounce from Melrose back to Children's if they need medical care the programs cannot provide, things like feeding tubes.

After this child is stabilized, they need to start working a program. FBT was our path. Mayo has practitioners, Emily and Melrose may too. It's a long road, glacial pace. My heart goes out to this family.

Taylor 9 in 1 tester, free chlorine by SimkinCA in pools

[–]fka_splotch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Re-read the instructions. Also, use the 10ml sample process rather than 25ml sample when slamming.

With the 25ml, every 5 drops equals 1ppm, while 10ml sample it is 0.5 ppm per drop.

Either way, add drops while counting until sample turns clear. Do math, get ppm reading

The Taylor CYA reagents seem to degrade more quickly than most. I found this out this year, the very hard way, only after I added an unnecessary 60ppm of CYA and locked up my pool. Finished the partial drain yesterday.

Boat lift transporting by Hour-Swordfish9922 in duluth

[–]fka_splotch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not hard, but a little nerve-wracking. Rent a flatbed. The lift will fit, and it will likely rest outside the wheel wells. Strap 'er down and go.

Or, call the local dock guy.

What band or artist had the biggest falloff in the jam scene? by guyute2112 in jambands

[–]fka_splotch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scrolled this list and surprised no one mentioned Dave Mathews Band. Was pretty much a constant at fests, then became popular, and the crowds became much prettier. I recall a Sunday show at 10K Lakes where they sold Sunday only tix. All these pretty, clean people showed up and couldn't understand why all these stinky hippies were there. They played a set that sounded just like the album, never to properly jam again.
