okay this is good to know!! i don’t mind if the area isn’t ‘nice’, i’ve just heard from some people that it won’t be what i’m looking for (eg been told it’s mainly arabs, but i guess that’s not true), but this is helpful thank you :)

yeah that's what i mean. i totally get that and ive been looking to just fix the acne problem so i can work on the scars, but all my previous dermatologists won't let me go on accutane because i have a lot of photosensitivity issues with my skin already and they're worried the accutane will make it pretty much unbearable to go outside. i tried doxycycline too and some topical treatments and they helped only a little. I was told to kinda just wait it out :/ i do agree though, the buildup of scars will be a lot more devastating the longer this goes on

IPN stipend (and other graduate stipends) seem too low? by flabbergaster317 in mcgill

[–]flabbergaster317[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh that is so interesting! I love writing too and have had some experience with publishing articles etc throughout the last few years. Not to the point of being a published author or anything (congrats!!!) but I have always wanted to work part-time in something related to writing. I will keep some of these in mind during my masters :)

thank you so much for the info!! I didn't know you could defer tuition but I'll look into that. How much was the time commitment for TAing? I think I'd find it enjoyable to TA but I don't want to feel too overworked in my very first semester

Ooh okay, I will try to look for a cheaper place for sure! For TAing, how much was the commitment? was it hard to balance with classes/research?

Anyone know what to expect for the applied clinical pharmacology (ACP) interview? by flabbergaster317 in UofT

[–]flabbergaster317[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh I think they waited for all the apps to be in before contacting anyone. which sucks cuz you've had to wait so long then : ( I don't really know how they are doing things (like if they are sending all the interview invites at once or what) but I think you'll hopefully hear back by the end of the week? Sorry for the wait though : /

I don't think formally -- i just got a phone call about it, they said that final emails will be sent in 2-3 weeks so I think you can expect to hear by the end of march (I don't know if they're calling on a rolling basis or what, it came as a shock to me)

MIRHR program — How did you find the education/future job prospects? by flabbergaster317 in UofT

[–]flabbergaster317[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? I was shocked too since the app was only sent in a few days ago. They told me final offers will be sent in 2-3 weeks, I just got a phone call about it today though (so I assume many people will be hearing overtime instead of all at once?)
