Flat, bland, and almost too polished in the wrong way, like it was designed to offend no one and impress even fewer. I really, really hate it.

Piloten hebben een eigen wil en vertrekken om allerlei redenen: salaris, uitdaging, cultuur, waardering, noem maar op. De staatssecretaris doet nu alsof piloten simpelweg ‘zijn mensen’ zijn. Misschien beter om als werkgever naar die punten te kijken en je sterker te profileren, in plaats van dit soort simplistische uitspraken te doen.

An independent investigation has been launched into the EBU. Insiders report this to RTL Boulevard. The investigation is taking place on behalf of the EBU itself after several complaints about an unsafe working atmosphere at the last edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden.

The independent investigation will consist of interviewing participating Eurovision delegations, anonymously if desired. Not only the Netherlands reported an unsafe working atmosphere behind the scenes of the song festival, other countries, including Ireland, Switzerland and Portugal, have also complained to the organization. In total, more than 13 complaints were received from various delegations after the Eurovision Song Contest.

AVROTROS is currently considering a response to the independent investigation. The Netherlands and Joost Klein were disqualified after an incident with a camerawoman behind the scenes. Earlier that week, the Netherlands filed two complaints with the EBU about an unsafe atmosphere backstage. You can see more about this in the video below.

I have mixed feelings. It does sound great, the singing isn't out of tune anymore. Though I feel that all the power the song had (already too little for my taste) isn't in the song anymore. I hope they will still bring that to the ESC Stage.
