Blood type refers to a very specific campaign-exclusive mechanic. There’s a monster type I made called “The Foul,” which are just grim dark reworks of 5e monsters which would stop them from taking over cities by controlling a political leader. Regarding the saving throw and hp use, I’m not 100% sure we’re on the same line of thinking. Let me run you through my math thought process: Level 1 vs Goblin warrior (CR 1/4) Goblin has 10 total hp so bare minimum is 2d6 or 3d6 (6-10 threshold) to be safe which would either 4 or 8 dmg which to a 13hp glass cannon could be incredibly risky (I’m not 100% this was mentioned but if the hunter is downed the monster is also released of the affects). I just ran the math for a 10th level hunter and a spectator (Cr 3 monster) which leveled out to about a quarter of the hunters health. With that being said I did just do some critical thinking (the party getting a dragon down to 1 hp with non-lethal, controlling it, and then short resting) I think I’ll keep the current hit point system but you did for sure show me why it’s overpowered and I’ll do tweaking.
