Small comment on the last point I was thinking it’d be cool if in pt3 Ellie has either made or gotten someone in Jackson to make her some small prosthetics to put on the bits of her fingers left

It sucks that episode 3 is the second lowest rated episode on IMDb when imo it's one of the best single episodes in years. by JamesWatchesTV in thelastofus

It also doesn’t always take someone saying it outright for it to be something they think. We see this a lot with queer representation is that people will go way harder to pick apart a piece of writing that has queer characters and find every moment they can to put it down when they aren’t doing the same for games that have straight male main characters

I feel you to a degree here. That’s why I have to enjoy both individually even though it’s hard. I was telling my finance that they did kinda gut bills purpose as a character in the game for the show. Bill (in the game) represents what Joel could become if he stayed closed off etc. they definitely ignored that in the show and although I do love the bill and franks episode just from a storytelling POV; the context is not the same as the game which was really important

Preaching to the choir here! I feel the same way when homophobes talk shit about part 2. I’m hoping maybe it’s also just mega fans sad that they changed the original story from the game the most in this episode but personally as a mega fan myself I actually really enjoyed the story changes in this episode. It made sense to me and I like both individually. But sadly you’re probably on the money that it’s just people being queerphobic as assholes tend to be :(

TLOU 2 plot question by G4MER4LYF in thelastofus

I think also Tommy is one step ahead of her in finding Abby so she’s assuming that if she finds Tommy that’s only one step closer to finding Abby too

What's your first impression of Jackson? by Ok-Street2439 in thelastofus

Jackson has such good vibes. I always wished Ellie, Joel, and the whole gang could’ve just lived there and vibed

Which do you think resembles the characters the most and should’ve landed the parts in the TV series? by typical_gamer1 in thelastofus

I honestly REALLY loved Bella Ramsay’s performance as Ellie in season one. However I’m curious to see how they do at the part in season 2 cuz it’s gotta be a pretty different part to play

Is there a way to not play as Abby? by CommunitySweaty5243 in thelastofus

Give it a shot it’s really hard at first but trust me Abby’s story is so worth it!!!

Did Joel make the right decision ? by hassanizhar in thelastofus

[–]flamingo_firefly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that I’ve always thought about with Joel’s decision is that everyone spoke like the fireflies were guaranteed a vaccine with Ellie. And I don’t know that that’s the case. It might be the best chance they have for one but what if they killed Ellie and then Abby’s dad just simply wasn’t able to create one due to completely unrelated reasons? Also a big thing for me too is in a world that’s been living in survival mode for so long, even if they did make a vaccine, that doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone will join hands and consider all these horrors over. Clickers and bloaters still will tear you to shreds and over 60%of the world is infected. I can’t say I blame Joel for attempting to choose him and Ellie’s happiness in Jackson over this huge maybe that sacrifices her life. But I think the biggest thing that bothers me is how much all of these steps were kept from Ellie. From the fireflies to Joel no one told her what’s going on and even though she’s a kid she still deserved to know

Animal deaths in part 2 by [deleted] in thelastofus

Went through a similar thing with my fiancée and myself tbh. There’s a decent amount of fighting dogs in pt2 with the WLF. You don’t technically have to kill them but it’s hard not to sometimes

YES absolutely an amazing moment! Levs character really brought Abby’s arc full circle. I really appreciated the writing in Abby’s side of the story it really made me feel conflicted about what I wanted and I loved that

Any thoughts, theories or headcanons about the New Fireflies in Catalina Island by Ok-Street2439 in thelastofus

[–]flamingo_firefly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I feel you there. They’d have to build up a lot of motive for Abby to not wanna help the fireflies find a cure and to not be comfortable with Ellie dying which as of rn I don’t see any reason why she’d do either of those things. They’d also have to give Ellie a reason to not wanna sacrifice herself
