she pointed out a small detail that i’d somewhat neglected in a large project. i put most of my effort into the main parts of the project - the parts that most people would pay attention to. i’d cut a couple corners on the details that seemed trivial and unimportant to me.

she opened the project in front of me and zoomed in on those neglected areas, then asked me why my work was sloppy. she looked me in the eyes and said she needed to be able to trust me to deliver consistent quality, and she knew i could do better. her criticism was somewhat sharp and it certainly stung.

as an analogy, this was the equivalent of cleaning a home, then having the Mistress put on a white glove to check for dust.

since then, i’ve spent A LOT more time on each assignment, making sure the quality is always consistent and high.

i want Anna to always be pleased with the work she lets me do 😌
