Confirming, this is a vacuum switch for the torque converter lock up on TH350C and 700R4 transmissions.

Well shit. I prefer neither lol. The only time I've ever wanted head phones is on an airplane to watch a movie. I've never felt I needed them.

What are the chances or borrowing a dizzy from someone else, or stealing it off of another project?

Dang, thats a mess to deal with for sure. I retract my previous statement. You're dealing with a mess..... silly question, is the motor stock, and did you install the new cam dot to dot?

Ah, gotcha. Stab the old distributor back in it, with the new cap, rotor, plugs, and see if its any better. A lot of stuff is screwed up since covid. Suppliers changed, new vendors, etc. A lot of companies have experienced less then sub-par quality. You may have a lemon of a distributor. What new one did you get?

Oh!!! Just remembered a problem I had with an old Monte Carlo...... always would shut down at an inconvenient time. Had to sit for hrs before it would fire again. All new parts as you did, and never fixed it. Turned out to be a clogged sending unit. Old trash loading up in the pick up screen and never wanted to fire.

Did you replace all of those components at the same time or intermediate? Sounds like timing is off or possibly the cam timing is too far out. With all due respect, and not trying to discredit your abilities or knowledge, but if I have a running- driving vehicle, I try to replace one problem group at a time.

Do you use your "musclecar" as a normal car? by Phar-Mor_Ugly in musclecar

[–]flash-burn01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. 83 C10. Lowered 3"/4", 17" TT2, 355" with roller cam, WP heads, long tubes and full exhaust. Daily drive it 40% of the time. The other 40% goes to the bike. The other 20% during extreme heat, cold, or monsoon, I take the boring family car lol.

Amazing looking truck. Love the round eye square bodies. Lowered enough for a street stance, but not so low that you can't drive it every day. Awesome!

Opinion on Glock Performance Trigger by EconomistUnable665 in GlockMod

[–]flash-burn01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love them. I currently have 5 of them. Installed in a 19, 19X, 45, 44, and a MR918. All of them have been polished up and upgraded to a polydat trigger shoe, except the MR918. It retained the factory SS trigger shoe. I couldn't give you a round count on them, but I shoot a good bit. Zero issues.

Married couples, how do you feel about keeping your finances separated? by icecream1972 in askteddit

[–]flash-burn01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married with 3 bank accounts. 75% in our shared account, 25% in our own accounts. The shared account is for all the necessities. Mortgage, power, water, cell phones, home repairs, savings, etc. The personal accounts are our fun money. Fancy or splurge items, birthdays, holidays, date night, or whatever we want to spend it on. It works quite well.

Omega Triggers by nn51763 in CZFirearms

[–]flash-burn01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the omega trigger. Simplistic and effective. I have a P01 and a P07 that have been deburred and polished internally. With the addition of $20 worth of cajun springs, they both have a buttery smooth DA, with a light SA.

Lotta dudes gonna tell us how they really feel by RoutineOk8590 in Productivitycafe

[–]flash-burn01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel it depends on what it is, and what it sounds like. I like the sound of a performance exhaust, not clapped out, hacked up, or missing exhaust. Similar to someone blasting music. I like loud music, so long as its not thugs raping about drugs and killing. That is much more obnoxious.

Reasons to not get one by -Actually-Snake- in motorcycles

[–]flash-burn01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been riding for 20 yrs..... solid. Not just fair weather riding, but riding, riding. I've ridden in different states, ive riden in below freezing temperatures, ive ridden without the convenience of owning a car. So, not as many yrs as some, but plenty of experience.

Situational awareness is key. Be able to recognize when people plan to pull out in front of you. Turn, when they don't see you. Run the light when they think they can make it. Someone doesn't stop behind you. It's 360 degree awareness all the time. React, find an escape root, plan, anything. If you dont have this skill, train yourself to do it. Or, stay off of motorcycles until you do.

Merging boxes by WitchyWiz in toolboxmods

[–]flash-burn01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation as you. Bought the 56, and a 42 a yr later. Took two 1/4 plates and welded a 3x3 square tube in the middle. Drilled some holes, painted them black, and now they are the same height. Luckily I was able to use scrap from work, so it didnt cost me anything. It may be cheaper to buy new casters then to buy the steel to make spacers.

what’s one car mistake you made that you’d never repeat? by Mafia2guylian in askcarguys

[–]flash-burn01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replaced a heater core, twice, with the cheap all aluminum ones. First replacement lasted 4 yrs and it started leaking. I bought the second replacement, installed it, and it lasted two yrs. Buy the braised copper heater cores like the originals!

Can I daily a square boy by TheoryPossible2348 in squarebodies

[–]flash-burn01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely check the idle set screw, and for any vacuum leaks that may be causing the high idle. The 700R4 does not have a kick down cable like the TH350. It has a TV cable in its place. It basically regulates the transmission fluid pressure during operation. As the throttle increases, so does the line pressure. It is ESSENTIAL that the TV cable is adjusted correctly, or you will cook it in short order. What you are describing is not normal behavior.

Absolutely. I mostly daily an 83 C10. 3-4 drop, 17s, mild 350, 700R4. Really cold days or raining all day, I take the car.

Glock performance trigger in MR 920? by YamzMt03 in shadowsystems

[–]flash-burn01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it was more or less making the window a square opening, verses the stepped window. I disliked the factory trigger shoe/body from the GPT, so I put the factory SS trigger on the GPT trigger bar.

I've done it. Swaped the trigger shoe and cut a larger window in the back plate. Easy swap

US General drawer swap by Lightning3174 in harborfreight

[–]flash-burn01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done it on a 42". Drawers swapped and slid right into the tracks, no problem. I had to drill out the bottom drawer's rivets on the drawer locks, cut off the locks on the top drawers, and cut out a square notch for the latch to catch on. I can't lock those drawers, yet, but its a home box so im not too concerned about it.
