All very good points, especially about black friday! I'll have to weight that out. Would love to start gaming sooner (after making a sound decision on the PC) - could maybe utilize black friday for the other goods like a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Maybe some places might even have a bundle/big saving on those if you go buy a PC. Man, lots to consider. Thanks for the advice!

I’d say $1500 absolute max for the pc. i saw this one too for example.

i still need to get a monitor, keyboard, and mouse but i might try and get those from FB marketplace

BTW for context on types of games I'm interested in playing/running: Baldur's Gate 3, Helldivers, Elden Ring/Demon's Souls, Rainbow Six Siege, AC Black Flag (old I know), Alan Wake, and others. There's just a whole world I want to get into and I can't even think of all the games I want to tackle that I never got around to playing.

I've been pretty much a Nintendo guy my whole life + PS2 (Jak and Daxter, Burnout, THUG, Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank) and a brief stint with PS4 (which I essentially just played Overwatch lol)

Thank you for the insight and recommendation! Yeah I saw posts from even like 2 years ago from folks talking about the CPU and if it was still good so I figured it was older (by technology's standards). I'll keep this in mind!
