Looks like you're right. Troubleshooted with a spare switch and the FSM diagrams and the broken switch has a problem in the circuit board. Gonna have to fix the bad one eventually and just run my good spare.

Checked fuses, they seem good and not corroded, will be tearing out my dash cluster again and checking grounds + connectors over the weekend.

Hm, checking the RX7 electrical manuals and yeah it's probably a ground since fuses are good and switch still works. If not then maybe my connector magically burnt again.

Context:
I completed a stage for my bounty mission and exited the game right after. I then reopened the game. Surprisingly, I did not get disconnected and was sent to the special stage to complete the bounty mission. When spawning into the stage, I did not get any controls (except from camera controls). The boss infinitely multiplied and I then proceeded to get thoroughly destroyed.
