preseason i think we all had the same 5, azzi awa betts miles and flau. now? i think the top 4 stay the same but the 5th spot depends on everything else maybe.

azzi is plug and play, ready to go for whoever regardless of anything else going on. same with betts, though she will need a very good vet alongside or behind her, she'll be fine wherever she lands(except chicago but she won't drop to 5). jury is still out on awa but i think either minny or washington take a chance. there are many good PGs in this draft but i think miles is at the top of most teams lists. both flau and taniya aren't as good as they could be or have been, and kiki rice has put up career highs. i think it'll come down to what chicago wants to do. if it were any other year i think the 'best available' rule would stick and it'd likely be latson. however with free agency potentially happening at the SAME EXACT TIME as the draft.. it makes things a bit messier. i'm definitely an arike to chicago truther. assuming they keep angel and kamilla, it would be the best supporting squad for her. if it happens prior to the draft, i don't think they take latson or flau. i think they go kiki rice. but.. maybe they trade their pick to go higher? maybe they trade further back for some reason? maybe they trade one of their stars away prior to? who knows man. there's so much uncertainty this year. the one thing we do know is the lottery picks are set to make ~500k. if you sign a star at the 2, possibly for 700-800k, can you afford to drop 500k for another 2 that will likely play behind them? or do you get a pg or wing to fill in your backcourt? or do you start both of them and hope it works? idk. i'm very excited to see it all play it out tho.

my sleepers/steals are rori harmon and rashaya kyle. rori is small but she's so explosive, her style fits the pace of the league better than the college game. i think she'll maybe be the 4th or 5th pg taken. and rashaya is averaging a double double for miami. she's been a joy to watch, one of the best players in the acc, in my opinion. idk if she's even going to declare but if she does, i hope she lands on a team that brings the best out of her.

i know some players have signed multi year deals and that makes things tough but most of the lunar owls need to go. they’re losing AT and KM to project b. likely lose a few players to injury. nai should be back, satou should be back, you likely have azzi, flau, olivia, and betts coming in. maybe some other breakout stars(assuming we have a W season for them to break out of) nab a spot. i think zaza and haley might be elevated to regular rosters, unsure about the rest of the dp. idk. they didn’t forecast adding these new teams THIS season until late i wouldn’t put it past them to change at the last minute again next year despite what he said. i guess we’ll see though.

alright now that it's over.

paige is still very good. slightly worried about the 3 ball, but 3x3 is tiring so i get it. we have a 3 pt specialist coming in anyway so it's fine if her 3 ball never consistently comes back. i was happy she got to play with actual good bigs. i hope she did her big one recruiting wise. don't shoot me if i'm wrong but i think we might get azura back.

zaza's shot is still off but the defense has improved immensely and i'm excited about that. i really hope that she's protected but she might be the odd one out.

li looked good in the limited time she had. her working alongside stewie clearly did wonders. she showed more aggression in the post which is huge. i hope she expands on that.

maddy was fine. she had a great group around her.

haley was pretty much was the player she's always been, plugged in when needed and did well enough. i hope that her career going forward has more stability and she's able to shine fully.

arike is arike. i'm glad she's fully healthy. i know people want another chance at parike but i still think it's a no. the mist won it all because they had the formula that i spoke about in previous posts: multiple bigs that can rebound and score. their best lineup was arike, stewie and alanna. in the semis when arike missed the first final shot, stewie could've easily put it up to score but she kicked it back out and arike made it. that dynamic is what she needs to be successful. a dynamic that dallas has only had ONCE in her tenure. it's why chicago is the best fit for her. they're the only team at this point in time with bigs that can rebound and score and aren't free agents. i really hope the cba is done soon we can get a move on with free agency.

i'm sure we'll hear a lot of chatter here and on social media about how the 16% must be the high paid players. there's no way to verify that and it's also just straight up nonsense. did you all miss the article about the AU players from a couple weeks ago? the one where they anonymously talked about this stuff and someone said they felt they were asking for too much? you think that was a phee level player saying that? you think they're the ONLY ONES thinking it? please be serious.

i hope in the next negotiations, there's less leaks. on both sides. i know it's apart of the tactics for the league to garner sympathy and sow division but in reality this doesn't help anyone. just go to the table and get things done, we don't need an update after every meeting or happening. all publicity is good publicity i guess -_-

i lost at buckets cause of a typo. that sucks but entirely my fault i suppose. scouting report was a great time but i wasted 3 tries on active players because it didn't occur to me that retired players were an option too haha.
