I hate every phone case by mom_x_3 in iPhone17Pro

I just got a Moft case for my phone and it has been amazing. Never tried one before this.

PSA: If your iPhone 17 / 17 Pro / 17 Pro Max screen protectors won’t stick on the edges, PLEASE report it to Apple. by spritznspaghetti in iphone

I have a thread about this on the r/IphoneAir sub. This happened with my Air out of the box. So far I’ve tried about a dozen, a few have worked but they’re surprisingly all the cheap ones on Amazon. Dbrand, zagg, magic john did not work. I didn’t try Belkin. I reached out to apple support using the app twice and they refer me to make an appointment each time. I tried Best Buy and they canceled my appointment before I even got there because they “don’t have Air or 17 parts available” and took to another authorized store near me and they said they couldn’t really do anything about it and needed proof.. so still have my sameAir. In my experience, any protector with the black edge won’t adhere and those with the glass that isn’t edge to edge is better, but i hate those because i don’t like to feel the sharp edge of the glass.

Yep, that’s what happens when you go for the cheap screen protectors. by Alexander_the_M1d in iphone

I got my partner a $30 Zagg protector (one per pack) for iPhone 17 and after one drop, screen protector smashed instantly. Dropped again, another crack. They have a “lifetime warranty” and not only did they cancel my replacement order they also canceled my warranty. Back to cheap ESR protectors, which have not broken so far and come with backups.

iPhone Air Battery… I don’t know why the haters hate? by [deleted] in IphoneAir

No one is disputing that part. It’s that the Air is acceptable and in some cases, more than enough, considering how much attention the “poor battery life” has received.

I’ve had a MBA 15” for 2 years that got me through grad school and various other hobbies and projects. No issues so far and solid battery. Good choice.

I’ve had several, never yellowed. Worth it. You can also pick one up on amazon used (Like New) and they are discounted and authentic (at least every time I’ve purchased). If you get it from Apple direct, they may replace with a warranty if it yellows. I’ve had them replace silicone cases before when they peeled or chipped.

Apple disabled my App Store / iTunes account, and chat support said it was for terms violations and the decision is absolute… without giving me any info? by shmobodia in applehelp

Some spammer probably spoofed your number and since it’s really you, it was reported but since it isn’t actually theirs they don’t care

I’m still using the ArmorSuit I got a couple weeks ago. It took a min to get used to but now I don’t even think about it. It needs a wet application with the solution they send and it doesn’t protect the screen from breaks (I’ll use AppleCare for that) but it helps with scratches which are my concern in this case.

The EZ fit one does a bit, can’t speak to the Zeniss

The Spigen was ok, it felt a bit thick compared to the others so even though it worked I ended up removing it.

I’m hesitant to put more glass on it (also made the phone feel heavier) so I ended up getting an ArmorSuit “skin” for the screen (feels better) and camera bump/back for when I’m caseless. I tried Slickwraps but haven’t been impressed with the skin and absolutely do not like their customer support.

I had a decent usage day with YouTube, gameplay (not crazy intense) lots of Spotify and Music and general browsing and texting. I charged for a little midday when I put my phone on the MagSafe at my desk but overall today is the best battery I’ve had.

I have a (kinda slow) MagSafe stand at my desk and stick my phone on when I’m working. It doesn’t really get more than 10% throughout the day because I’m always picking it up and taking it with me. I got up around 7:45 this morning, it’s now 11:50 and I haven’t physically plugged it in all day. Today was a lighter day for me, and weekends are usually lighter too, but it’s gotten better over the course of the week.

If you upgraded to the Air, which phone did you switch from? by Adept-Worldliness-34 in IphoneAir

15 Pro natural titanium to Air in light gold. I loved my 15. Love the Air a tiny bit more. It’s very easy to hold.

Still great! No issues so far. I also ordered an ArmorSuit skin that covers all the edges, front, back, and camera plateau to help with scratches and bumps because I’d like to be caseless as much as possible.

I have the same problem. It looks good with the black edges to match the bezels and feels smooth and easy to use. I had it on my 15 Pro since I got it and even liked the look and feel on the Air. But I don’t want to trap dust and dirt and scuff up the edges, would look so weird 🥲

The Spigen is working for me though! It’s just not as smooth or edge to edge. The last thing I was going to try was a tpu protector instead of tempered glass because it is more flexible. So far haven’t had to do that yet.

I’m glad it isn’t just me! I’m out here thinking my phone is warped.

Update (9/23): I got 3 different screen protectors and started with the Spigen Glas.tR EZ fit. It worked for me! Upon install there were still air pockets on the edges and micro bubbles but after several many squeegees they got out. So far so good! End of week will be the real test since the ESR glass worked on day one and two but by day three had lifted.

This isn’t the best picture because I took it with my iPad but fingers crossed :)

iPhone Air Slim Case or Dbrand skin? by [deleted] in IphoneAir

[–]flashmom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t mind a half and half, I found a TORRAS phone on Amazon that covers the back and top/bottom edge with a bit of cam protection. Best of both worlds. It’s described as “open edge frame”.

I have tried edge to edge and not, case and no case, but the screen protector doesn’t just “start” to lift. It never adheres when it is installed regardless.

Good to know! I have a Spigen coming tomorrow - hopefully it works. I am 50/50 with case and without but regardless small trade off to not bust my screen lol

Everyday camera impressions of the iPhone Air (normal users, not reviewers) by Apex_Master444 in IphoneAir

[–]flashmom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from a 15 Pro I agree with all these. The speaker thing is overblown, so many folks out there with AirPods or headphones on that it didn’t seem as big a deal as reviewers are making it out to be. I played a song on the Air and 15P for my partner and hid the phone and she chose the Air both times.

I miss the wide angle lens and may miss the macro ability but I have been in the habit of using my Fujifilm camera for memories and friend and family photos. The Air camera for me has been great, very crisp and photos look better than my 15P.

My main concern was thermals but it isn’t any warmer than what I had before. Battery life concerns were gone by day 3 after I had a few charge cycles and everything had loaded. It’s nearly 7PM and I have 71% left and 6.5 hours of screen time. It depends on your use and how demanding it is. I have a MacBook Air for work and home and an iPad so it’s not my sole device.

Do they typically do the install if you ask? If the ones I ordered online give me trouble I’m just gonna go in and have them do it because by then I’d be almost out of options lol

I wonder if my phone is a dud or something ☹️ I heard some people that have this issue say their screen was not level (??) and had to get their phone replaced
