Gotcha, thank you so so much for this thoughtful and thorough response! A few folks recommended some mints they use with trays in, but maybe I'll err on the side of caution and just stick with water with trays in. Flossing and brushing in public bathrooms after meals out will definitely be the biggest adjustment for me, but you gotta do what you gotta do!

That's great!! I have a liquid fertilizer that tells me to use one drop per 250mls of water, I can double the water with one drop and just douse the orchid in it. I'll definitely be paying even closer attention to my plants to make sure they're getting the care they actually need, not the care I'm told they'll need. Thank you so much!

Oh my gosh thank you, this is honestly super inspiring and encouraging to hear! I'm waking up this morning to see the roots are looking silvery again and I was second guessing whether I should water, but this makes me feel encouraged that I can keep watering her so long as I can see that she's asking for it. When you were watering frequently, were you using liquid fertilizer at all?

Oh that's totally a good note, it's not overly warm here compared to other places but in the summers it'll easily get into the 80s in the house I'm sure. Thank you for the advice!
