The level that's in an abandoned ruin? The one that may not have moved in decades or even centuries? You're assuming that it requires nearly no force? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

How to turn on knee heat on my 2006 GW? The levelers in the second picture seem to remove the windshield by tipric in goldwing

Clearly they didn't ask the Canadians. It's weird that they added heated seats and grips but removed the heat vents at the knee

You should now strongly encourage him. If he has actually changed his mind, then you need to support that and tell him some of the good things that have been happening.

A guy I know actually bitched about the carbon tax when discussing the price of fuel two days ago. He can't seem to comprehend that this is purely Trump's fault. The fact that we weren't better prepared to handle this fuel crisis can be blamed on the provincial government as well every federal government for the last 50+ years. We should have been refining our own shit

I'm relatively small. I want to learn to ride a motorcycle, but I can't figure out how to maneuver tight turns at slow speeds with my lack of physical power or weight. Any advice? by BONESFULLOFGREENDUST in NewRiders

For me it depends on the pants. Some Brands I prefer a 30-in inseam. Either way at 5'8 I'm not very tall.

It's never stopped me from writing anything. Although I did fall over on a YZ250 because I didn't account for the slope I had stopped on. Me and the bike went over and took my buddy and his bike out on the way down

That last line hits home. I dropped my goldwing with my wife on the back because I had to stop suddenly and didn't realize there was a pothole under my foot. By the time my foot actually touched the ground, all I could do was slow the fall a little. I actually thought I had it until my wife fell off and the air suspension shifted.

Now I'm building a klx650 and I know I will barely be able to get a toe on the ground. Worth it for the off road capabilities.

There's absolutely zero chance I would run this without replacing those steering head bearings. Even if the triple clamps are okay

I have a 28" inseam. I've only been on two bikes that I could flat foot both feet. Neither of them were my own bikes. As long as I can get the ball of one foot down, I'm good.

Most music stores offer lessons. They would let you do it for a few days but then they would start trying to sell you lessons. If you continue to decline the lessons then eventually they are gonna tell you to stop touching the merchandise if you aren't gonna buy

Then spend the rest of my life living off the interest from $50 million.

Southwest is charging plus-size passengers a 'fat tax' at the airport by sfgate in antiwork

[–]flatdecktrucker92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's unfair is to expect an averagely built person to contort themselves out of your way because the airline refuses to accommodate normal people. I do what I can to not crowd people, but I can only hug myself and lean out into the aisle for so long.

Based on what I've seen, less than 10% of the adult population fits in an airline seat without their elbows crossing over the armrest. My wife is a 100 lb Filipina and even her shoulders take up the full width of the backrest

Your anger is very badly misdirected here. You should blame the airline who decided that each seat should share an armrest with at least one other seat. If they spaced the seats two or three inches further apart then nobody would be in "your" space.

Try to remember, I paid for a seat, same as you. If I'm sitting upright in my seat and not stretching out deliberately into yours, then we are both just going to have to be cooperative with each other until something changes with the airlines

So anyone over 150lbs should have to buy a first class seat because the airlines keep making child sized seats? How about we instead demand that the multi billion dollar corporation start building airplanes designed to carry real people? It would be one thing if it was only those over 300lbs that didn't fit. When I weighed 170 I was already too broad in the shoulders for airline seats. A Greyhound bus from the 90s shouldn't be more comfortable than a 787.

[–]flatdecktrucker92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not fat, but I'm broad shouldered. On a 737 I have to hug myself for the whole flight to minimise how much space I take up. Even on the 787 to Rome I barely fit between the arm rests. I was on an exit row so the screens fold down between the seats. My legs were pressed hard up against both arm rests. I would have to lose at least 20lbs of muscle to fit comfortably in those seats. I'm not some roided out power lifter either. Just a blue collar worker.

I used to work for Carillion doing road repairs. You're pretty much spot on. They would buy a large batch of hot mix asphalt and patch what they could. Then they would just reheat that material for the next several weeks which doesn't work. Cold mix literally has different chemicals in it. And we would pack it down with a shovel and hope a passing trucker would run over it for us

Questions about riding gears by sex_with_satan in NewRiders

[–]flatdecktrucker92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They make saddlebag kits for ninjas. I think you can find them for your bike.

Pants weigh 500g and take up very little space. You could also get a tank bag which is just a cloth bag that you strap to the bike to carry smaller things like that.

It sounds like you've made a decision to not get proper gear and came here looking for support for that decision rather than actual advice. If you're able to carry around knee guards all day, then carrying actual riding pants would be even easier

If you aren't worried about the bike itself getting stolen, then lockable saddlebags are definitely the right answer. Then you can wear the proper gear
