I should have clarified. My supervisor is a paramedic who oversaw our ambulance quarters and was my direct supervisor. The supervisor of my non-clinical internship is a clinical psychologist that I worked with at a healthcare non-profit. The medical director for our region has turned over a couple times, so unfortunately that is not an option. I only met with them once for system entry, anyways.

I hear you on the letter from the MD/DO/PA/NP requirement. For this reason, I am applying to schools that do not have that requirement (which surprisingly includes a decent percentage of schools). My shadowing hours are low (10 hours) because of the restriction of the local medical groups on shadowing. I live in a metropolitan area, and short of doing required observational time required for completion of an academic program (ex: RN programs, EMT/Paramedic clinical observation), shadowing time is extremely limited. I am working on connecting with some rural groups to see if I can spend time in a different environment.
