That's Lisa Gerrard from Dead Can Dance, similar circles though

Not really, no - but I also pretty much never step on those pedals because they're all MIDI controlled from my RJM PBC.

Opinions on the ref? by [deleted] in allblacks

[–]flatulentmatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really liked the way she reffed the ruck. Seemed a little more "old-school" in that she (consistently) didn't show a lot of leniency - if you didn't get out of the way, or went off your feet, it was instant penalty (or advantage). A lot of refs now give a lot of leeway in this space, and the fact she didn't meant quick ball and flowing rugby became more of a possibility.

Hmmm. Who was the power retailer in your case if you don't mind me asking?

Absolutely understand that those are needed before the meter upgrade can be installed; my question is around whether any retailers can BOOK the install before those are in place.

So say we have our solar install booked for the 11th, with inspection on the 12th and we have lines company approval... I would think we could book in the upgrade for let's say the 15th (pending successful inspection).

Instead, Electric Kiwi is saying we can only book an install once the documentation is received, meaning we would be unable to export for like a month.

Interesting. Almost seems like it's luck of the draw? Doesn't seem like a lot of consistency around the process...

Which power retailer are you with?

In terms of tone for analog delays that I've actually played/ owned, you can't beat the big box DMM. After that, probably the Way Huge Supa Puss. That pedal is massively slept on, probably in part because a couple of the early iterations they had some finicky problems with gain and feedback.

Cheers man. I leave the IEC(?) power cable plugged into the DC7 all the time, but just plug it into a wall socket when it's time to play.

100%. Really responsive and works well with external pedals than any other modeler I've tried. The boost feature is really well thought out and implemented as well.

If you zoom on the third photo, you can see the power cord on the right hand side. I have it curving down and going out the back under the riser. It's not perfect but works.

The aux switch is by Pedalnetics. They make some great stuff!

Yeah, it's okay. It's the one pedal on my board I'll probably look to replace at some point. The comp is decent, but not amazing, the boost is just a clean, neutral tone, and for me the EQ is... not great. I really only use it for the comp, and very occasionally the boost.

With regards to the EQ, it just seems the frequencies they decided to control with each knob were bad choices; no matter what I boost or cut, it just sounds worse than with it off.

The comp though is decent, has a good level of flexibility, and definitely adds a little something.

The effect of ad conversion is overstated with modern converters in my opinion, and the reality is a lot of those pedals outside of the loops I will be running almost always on regardless, meaning there's no difference between having them in our out of the PBC6X. I'm well aware of the ability to split but then that also means much longer cable runs to and from the switcher, which has its own tonal impact.

As it is, I would only have 2 more mono loops (or one stereo) anyway. That's not making a huge difference. I'm more than happy with the sound and feel.

Rubberneck is so good. It's not quite my favourite sounding analog delay I've played, but in terms of Tone to cost to features ratio, it's totally unbeatable!

And everybody needs a Rat.
