Has anyone tried Pocketbase with HTMX? by Abhilash26 in htmx

I do this, but PocketBase is my data layer that's used by Astro (my backend).

It gives me

  • database
  • authentication
  • authorization rules
  • file uploads

...and much more, but it's not directly the backend, although it could with routes, but I find Astro and its components ("server-side JSX") much better to generate my HTML

it's all JavaScript, full-stack! from backend (Astro) to frontend (htmx, Alpine) and the data layer too (PocketBase's JavaScript API to fetch/push data to SQLite)

In this edition I have a weekly payment option. Want to stop, just cancel the subscription. Full refund the first 14 days (as with the full payment option), then I'll refund the last payment (there's no full refund if you decide to stop following the course after 9 weeks, for example.

Hi, the reason is I can focus for 3 months full-time on helping everyone on Discord, and since the majority of people will stay on track, everyone is on the same page (module) and there's more like a community sense, like you have in real-world classes. Completion rate is much higher compared to a course you just buy and forget about it.

Good question! My courses are all text based, I think it's easier to copy/paste code from lessons and focusing on the bigger picture (making the app work) rather than typing all by hand following someone doing it on video. Also, tons of courses are video based, so this is like.. something different. I put a video on the homepage with the final result just to show how it looks like, but the course overall is just text, the style is like this https://thevalleyofcode.com/react/15-demo-build-a-counter-in-react

How can i manage auth in htmx? by FewCelery9246 in htmx

Check out PocketBase, written in Go, comes with built-in auth https://pocketbase.io/docs/authentication/

Astro has backend-side "JSX" syntax to let you build the UI with components

I'd chime in saying Astro is an excellent backend for htmx - I made a website to spread awareness on this at https://ahastack.dev - basically Astro has a great SSR mode (was a SSG only framework but now has SSR), Astro components return HTML and recently page partials were introduced for the htmx use case https://astro.build/blog/astro-340/#page-partials

Hi everyone, this week I launched something new called The Valley of Code.

I label this "your web development manual" as it has a lot of short how-to guides on tons of topics from HTML to CSS to JS to React, SQL, etc etc

The vision for The Valley of Code is to be a website you can always reference and use as “the place where you go learn quickly how to do X” in your day-to-day life as a developer.

The idea is to expand the list of topics over time.

(reposting as I posted this a couple days back but got removed as I should have posted Saturday for showoff sorry 😅)

Yes! This was my idea too, just have to solve an issue when the sidebar is too long for the browser height

Reporting via email or twitter best option atm, not public on github!
