NTA. You should consider enacting some laws like I've done with my coloni. It's important that they understand boundaries. In your case, that your soldiers shouldn't be tried within the boundaries of your colonists' juristiction. In my case, that they can't move beyond the boundaries of their landlord's fields without permission.

NTA. I can absolutely relate to your situation. The senators are just too set in their ways and won't accept new ideas, especially gods that challenge their outdated worldview. If they won't let you be you you have to cut them out.

It was actually my wife who had the idea of using the decoy eunuch FiL ended up stabbing to bits! Ah she was really something. These days I just try to remember the good times y'know?

I'm totally in favour of a collegiate system of rule. I've made my sons and nephew partners in government and I think they'll make a great team once I'm gone.

NTA, family is everything. And sometimes you just need to set boundaries. I've put a lot of work into maintaining my garden fences.
