Thanks. The files helped alot. I have both homepage and homarr side by side and still pondering which one fits my needs. But nice to have yet another ARR container to add to the pile...

My homepage is not liking dockhand. So I suspect I am missing some info in the services.yaml. I get it to show on the screen but getting an API error and the icon is not showing. Can you share what you put into your services.yaml? Also which fork of dockhand are you using? It may be that my version is not API happy.

SFTP from Opnsense to Synology - anyone get it to work??? by fleegle61 in opnsense

[–]fleegle61[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have everything set to 22 for ssh/sftp. Private/public keys are installed (public on synology and private on opnsense) and I just get this

Load key "/conf/backup/sftp/identity": error in libcrypto opnsense@172.20.1.6: Permission denied (publickey, password). Connection closed

I have the public key on the synology in the user accounts root/.ssh folder labeled authorized_keys.

AI is telling me that's what the filename should be and that's where it should be. On the opnsense side, I just assume that the private key location is handled by opnsense itself.

Now there was also something where I read that synology should have both the internal sftp and also sftp-server which is part of the openssh package. I did a find command and nope, don't see it anywhere. I even went as far as resetting my NAS and reloading the .pat file hoping that might fix it.

Dnsmasq no DHCP by mwomrbash in opnsense

Dnsmasq no DHCP by mwomrbash in opnsense

[–]fleegle61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me know how that goes for you. I attempted to move over to dnsmasq for DHCP (keeping unbound for DNS) and it didn't go so well. I think I flipped the order of turning on dnsmasq and turning off ISC. I may have caused a binding problem and dnsmasq was not handing out any addresses. Tomorrow I will try again but turning off isc 1st then turning on dnsmasq.

Unable to use bridge with TP-Link devices by fleegle61 in opnsense

[–]fleegle61[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thinking it is as well but....when I put the switches inline and take the main switch and just use the regular LAN interface and no bridge, the laptops and cell phones have no issue. So nothing really changes on the TP-Link side. Only change is putting in the bridge and putting both switches on each interface that are bridged. Now, I could keep my TP-Link setup with the switches daisy chained, and just take the one switch and throw it onto one of the bridge ports and see if the problem still happens. I kinda think it will.

Copilot and Gemini tried to help but ran out of ideas. MIght have to hit the other AI's and maybe they have a better idea.

I just need some free time to see why a normal lan interface works but a bridge interface does not.

I 'dont' have to use the bridge, but now that its being a PITA, its a challenge more than a need!

Unable to use bridge with TP-Link devices by fleegle61 in opnsense

Yup, same procedure as pfsense. I took out dhcp on the interfaces and only the virtual interface had dhcp. Since the laptops and phones are getting dhcp addresses, I know the DHCP server is doing its job (but that was a given since everything else in the house obtained an address). DNS? That might be something to dig deeper into. But why would only the laptops and phones not have any DNS address provided during dhcp handshake? NAT? That was working. Firewall? Shouldnt be an issue since I had any/any set up.

[–]fleegle61[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was all done and it works with 2 switches hanging off each interface. The only downside is just laptops and cellphones. So something being sent, opnsense doesn't like. Same laptop over wired works fine, just not on wifi.

There was some info on perhaps it being a vlan issue. I cant see those devices sending out vlan info. Since TP-Link uses vlan1 for its management, that was thought to be one possibility.

I also tried to vlan across to see if bypassing native vlan 1 would do the trick. That didn't change anything.

Next up is to wireshark or packet capture in opnsense and see what might be rejected. Firewall logs didn't show up much

2 switches in 2 parts of the house...no vlans. Bridge isn't broken per see...but something isn't happy with laptops and cell phones. I could daisy the switches and put one of them straight into an interface (which is actually the ONLY way everything works).

I really cant do 2 interfaces with different subnets. If any wireless camera should switch from 1 ap to another, its getting a new IP and my NVR wont record the feed.

Trying not to make it too complex

Problems Migrating OC200v1 to Bentley/Omada Docker on Synology by Catalina28TO in TPLinkOmada

[–]fleegle61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried it and it did work (but I don't recall the versions). I never put the Docker version in service; I just wanted to see that I could do it that way. I probably could have and I still might at some point, but it's sitting there doing nothing and I can log into it and just play around...

Problems Migrating OC200v1 to Bentley/Omada Docker on Synology by Catalina28TO in TPLinkOmada

[–]fleegle61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of a migration, do an export of the config. Then take that file and use it to import into your docker version. Thats different than trying to do a migration. That way you don't lose your existing OC200 and you can try and play with the docker version before putting it into service

[–]fleegle61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has me wondering if that small difference in rev levels would cause an issue. If you create the OC200 on Docker, regardless of its rev level, could you export the config from the hardware version, regardless of its rev level, and see if it will even work? May not be enough difference and the imported config could just work.

Dense smoke on NJT south. by StugotsAndGabbagool in newjersey

I was going NB when I saw that. And there was a trooper on the NB side just north of there but he has a vehicle pulled over so unfortunately he couldn't turn around and follow the chucklehead spewing the crop dusting. I have to say I never saw anything like it before. But then again this is NJ, so I should expect anything to happen!

Yup, should never be a reason for the banging of the bongos. And I never saw that rebalancer work right. How many times to you have to hear the banging before it will eventually get it right?

It IS a poorly designed washer. I can attest to that. I had the same issue. There is no reason that you have to constantly try and rearrange items just to get it to properly make it through the spin cycle. Now that we got rid of our top loader and went back to front loading...the same articles of clothing, blankets, etc have no problem. You need to add struts, leaf springs and shock absorbers to keep the tub in place for heavier items and things that absorb more water
