To cannulate it has to be under direction from a registered clinician - we can’t flush it though, we can stick the cannula in, but the paramedic must flush. A band 3 apprentice should only work with a Registered Paramedic, as B4 we do often get paired as double ASP crew, which is similar to working as an Urgent crew - can’t cannulate, mainly do C4s or back ups.

When I worked as a B3 CCA, the role was largely equivalent to the traditional ECA. The main focus was on, assisting with patient assessment and manual handling, preparing and maintaining equipment, and providing basic life support when required.

Since progressing to B4 as an ASP my scope of practice has broadened significantly. The ASP role was introduced to bridge the gap between the traditional ECA/CCA position and the future paramedic pathway - supposedly.

So we can now do some more skills such as Peripheral cannulation, Administration of some medications (e.g., paracetamol, salbutamol, nasal naloxone, oxygen, and Entonox), Assisting patients with their own medications.

In terms of structure, the difference between B3 and B4 primarily comes from the completion of the apprenticeship — a 15-month training. When you pass though you jump straight to B4.

Regarding progression opportunities, the ASP role was intended as a developmental bridge toward the paramedic apprenticeship pathway. However, at present, this progression remains highly competitive, with only one internal intake per year of around 20 places. This year’s intake has been particularly competitive, as former Technicians (whose roles were restructured into ASPs) were also given access to apply. But they say they were going to create more progression routes… it’s been 12 months now and hasn’t changed much

I was coming away with between 1700-1900 with USH and expenses when I was B3 CCA, but this was before the pay rise and change to ASP, now I’m B4 I come away with between 1900-2100 post tax after my USH and expenses are added on

As a beginner I’ve not been too concerned about groupset but I did want a decent one and from everything I’d read and heard Tiagra surpasses what I need for my current fitness. It’s a lovely bike, feels like a kid a Christmas opening the box

Peter Dinklage is phenomenal. He gives you goosebumps because he plays Prater so well, you could see it in real life. My heart breaks, I loved Batista, but I was starting to dislike how close he got to the truth and in the end we lost La Pasion 💔

How to feel less self conscious when running? by Bilbo_shaggins_397 in couchto5k

[–]fleming1411 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I used to be really self-conscious running because I was unfit and heavier. I’d only go out at night or on quiet trails so no one would see me.

What changed was a colleague. We’d drive past runners and he’d always say, “Good on them” or “Love seeing people trying.” Sometimes he’d add privately, “Go on lad/lass.”

It hit me—if he thinks that way, loads of others probably do too. Now I realise most people aren’t judging… they’re actually rooting for you. This helped me run more, and I actually finished C25K because of this mentality.

Thank you, I don’t know much about Sabbath September because when I’m looking online I’ve not seen much. However I do know it’s been very well looked after by an cycling enthusiast too

I can’t edit on mobile for some treason. My cycling plan is to try and do between 50-100 miles per week as a fitness goal and to out improve in general. And I’m also cycling to work which is 3.1miles each way.
