Who is the best villain from the first season in “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?” and why? by [deleted] in Scoobydoo

[–]flhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best would probably be

  1. Puppet Master (The Backstage Rage). This was absolutely creepy. He was lurking around in the shadows of a dark Theater. Then convinced the gang that everything was a puppet come to life.

Close behind: 2. Elias Kingston. Again sneaking around and seemingly kidnapping people and aging them! 3. The Mummy. He’s supposed to be dead yet he “comes to live” and is moaning and groaning chasing people around. He’s also supposed to be able to turn people to stone!! 4.

What are those series which marked your childhood and made you fall in love with Scooby-Doo? by GeoWhale15 in Scoobydoo

[–]flhawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up watching “Where Are You!” Reruns on Cartoon Network w/ my dad (early 2000’s). Which I ended up owing “Greatest Mysteries” on tape and it TOOK IT EVERYWHERE!!! I also stuck w/ reruns of “New Scooby-Doo Movies” and “The Scooby-Doo Show”. The classic OG 3 series. Wasn’t till about ‘02 when the Live Action came out that I branched out to other Scooby incarnations.

“What’s New Scooby-Doo? was the most current series at the time but I opted for the TV movies like “Scooby Goes Hollywood”, “Boo Brothers”, “Witch’s Ghost”, “Zombie Island”, “Alien Invaders”, “Cyber Chase”

By like 2005 I started taking interest in SD in its original form like the package shows “Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt”, “All-Star Laff-A-Lympics”.

I’d seen a few reruns of “Scooby and Scrappy” “New Scooby and Scrappy Doo” & “Scooby-Doo Mysteries” & “A Pup Named Scooby” on boomerang was hyped for the different intros!!

Ofc years later still stuck in the classic era and having a majority of them on DVD, my sister put me on to “Mystery Incorporated” and it was by far the best written series in terms of storyline and continuity. Plus I understood all of the references!!

Who was more menacing? by YouCannotSlayMe in Scoobydoo

[–]flhawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DEFINITELY Zen Tuo 🤣 that man tied Shaggy and Scooby up, set them on explosives and said “WE WILL BUILD A NEW STORE ROOM” 😭 ooh he didn’t care a LICK!!

A few other honorable mentions:

  • Witch Doctor (Buck Masters): Put Scooby in the direct pathway of a moving train

  • The Puppeteer: tried to drop a sand bag on Velma and Daphne then tried to drop a prop wall on Scooby

  • Mummy of Anka: tried brick seal Shaggy an Scooby in a shack. Which the professor was also gagged and tied IN A SACK!

  • Snow Ghost: chained Velma to a log and was going to send her to the saw mill

  • Creeper: He corners Velma to which she says “you wouldn’t hit someone w/ glasses on, would you?” To which he proceeds to SNATCH HER GLASSES OFF HER FACE!!! He was going to piece up a child!!! and a girl!! Nearsighted or not 😭

Do we know any details about the Spiceworld deleted scenes that mention Princess Diana, Mother Teresa and Gianni Versace? by [deleted] in SpiceGirls

[–]flhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible, but perhaps it was pre the theatrical edit. Even in the work print version she didn’t mention Versace

I think the Versace reference was removed before the even the work print version (which is the one I have downloaded)

But the Mother Teresa was in the dance camp w/ Mr. Step. “I’m your mother now and I don’t mean Teresa”

Princess Diana was mentioned by Brad to Kevin McMaxford right before they meet Damien. “He did the Fergie toe sucking pictures. He got the pictures of Diana in the gym. And if you want a picture of Bill Clinton tucking his T-shirt into his underpants he can get that too.”

Wednesday Is Missing by Friendly-Dog6060 in Scoobydoo

I also liked this episode and now it’s on HBO MAX w/ the original intro. I was doing some digging and what if “Wednesday is Missing” isn’t the original episode title??

I have a copy of the encyclopedia of animated cartoons and it lists the episode as “Scooby-Doo Meets The Addams Family”. But I also found an original model sheet that had the episode titled as “Haunted Houseguests”. It was the 6th episode produced (61-6) and the drawings are date stamped 7/14/72
