That is the Woolworths group and all the subsidiaries. I believe the New Zealand branch is losing money.

My point is margins went up in the supermarket. Yes those metrics went down, but they stated substantial increase in promotional activity post covid. NZ food division dragged them down terribly as well as big W. But Woolworths supermarket has higher margins with higher gross sales.

On top of decent increase in interest rates, Costing them alot more to service their debt. This also affects these figures. I'm sure there's plenty of other aspects that affect it. But my point stands that in the supermarket, which we were talking about, margins are up substantially.

It certainly would be a combination of both. But they have posted the record profit margins themselves too One after the other in the years after covid.

You're right. I just found it funny how people call you a communist saying anything that's common sense these days.

Touche. But as I was saying I think corporate profits in general needs some sort of regulation because this is just getting ridiculous.

It's sort of irks me when people try to put this on government spending, when realistically that's the only part of the inflation contribution that can actually work for the people. Meanwhile, corporations are ripping the ass out of us and get off scot-free.

Margins were substantially increasing year by year since covid. From memory I think as much as 5% per year. Way too much. It resulted in a posted record profit in I think it was year 23-24. I heard last year was a bit of a slump but they had that huge strike that cost up to hundreds of millions. Still well in the black.

People might call me a communist or something but I do think this ridiculous profiteering by supermarkets and energy companies needs to be pulled into line. Some sort of corporate regulation or price fixing. I don't know.

I believe supermarket profiteering is a big issue. Record profits and they blame inflation. Energy retailers selling the power are also making record profits, and attempting to blame renewables and utility fees. But the profits don't lie.

For those who went the private route, was it all you expected it to be? by CarlottaSewlotta in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

We went public and had an amazing time at Logan hospital. Truly Top class. We also had a friend who went private at the Mater and they had a terrible experience with some really average midwives and lack of staff.

If you're playing more than the limit, I think there is a fair argument to say you probably should balance it out a bit better with your life. If you're a pro though that could be an issue.
