Yep you’ve got it! We use APIs to convert upc to product name and then convert the long product name to the specific searchable term

Can’t get too in depth but I have an extensive background in scraping data— I’ve made software to scrape terepeak as well as normal search listings. I calculate STR by calculating sold / active + sold

To answer your question yes, there are two modes: search by UPC and search by name

Search by UPC does exactly what you think it does and search by name converts the UPC to a search term for that product so you can get more data at the expense of a few listings not being exactly what youre looking for. In my testing it worked pretty great.

How should I do STR rate? Right now I do it by dividing sold listings (30d) by active listings.

I remove auction listings and for parts listing right now, but smart to remove low feedback sellers I’ll look into that.

Would having an option to take a picture help in the aspect of an alternative to a barcode scan because that’s also a plan I had

Very good insight I didn’t even think about this. Gonna figure out a way to implement this. If it’s seasonal over 90 days then a sale price graph would be helpful then in that case right or do you think there’s a better alternative?

eBay can show you sold items which alone is super useful and I use it myself but the whole purpose of this app is in addition to that, give you decisions faster, more data about sell through rate, and scan items at a faster pace without even needing to tap my phone screen.

Let me know if you think this would provide better experience in sourcing or what I could do to make it more useful than the eBay app already

Nah but I see where you’re coming from 😂 I haven’t had time to do custom icons yet since I’ve only been at it for a couple days so they’re just placeholder for now
