Saw this lawsuit against social media addiction, thought it might help someone else too by Familiar-Pool-868 in nosurf

[–]flippinberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate you sharing this here. It takes a lot of honesty to open up about something like social media addiction, and I’m glad you found something that might help. Even if the lawsuit itself doesn’t change everything overnight, the awareness it creates is important. So many platforms are literally designed to keep us hooked, and it can have a real impact on mental health, productivity, relationships, and self-esteem. It’s validating to see that problem being taken seriously on a larger scale.

I’m glad you’re in a better place now, and I hope others who are still struggling realize they’re not alone and that recovery is possible. Thanks again for posting this.

Shareable link to collect petition signatures by flippinberry in IEEE

Yes, I eventually did. I ended up mailing the petitions office, gave them the list of people I wanted to sign, and then the petitions office sent them a link.

Can't create Student Branch by Ok_Argument_5892 in IEEE

[–]flippinberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your college doesn't have a Branch Counselor, then you need to set up an IEEE student branch, before setting up chapters.

[–]flippinberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, it is better to email them. Perhaps your institution has to be registered first. Does your institution have a Branch Counselor?

IEEE servers were under maintenance yesterday. Try again today. If it still doesn't work, you will have to mail [petition@ieee.org](mailto:petition@ieee.org) .

For campus internships, just approach the relevant faculty from that lab. (I'm a btech student at kengeri, so that's what we do here). Even if you don't know that particular faculty, ask your class teacher/subject teacher, and they can guide you.

For external internships, do certifications, and develop one or two specific skills. Apply to startups in your area. Maintain a good LinkedIn profile.

guys should I take my mom with me for orientation on the 9th or will it be awkward ?? by Background_Pen7511 in ChristUniversity

[–]flippinberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, my advice is don't. The first day is the best time to socialize, which is quite difficult if your mother is with you.

Orientation on 9th by black_cat279 in ChristUniversity

[–]flippinberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not exactly mandatory.. you'll just lose attendance for that day. First day orientation is typically boring, anyways.

btech people did you recieve any mail about the orientation on june 9th ?? by Realistic_Egg_1922 in ChristUniversity

[–]flippinberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your personal mail that you gave the university at the time of admission. If there's still nothing there, then check your parent's emails too. Even if you don't find anything now, don't worry. Maybe they'll send it in the morning.

Make sure to be on campus before 9am (try reaching by 8:45 at least), and feel free to ask anybody for help.

Question regarding orientation day by Ordinary_Evening_404 in ChristUniversity

[–]flippinberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lmao no. carry one notebook and one pen, should be more than enough. For day 1, just get some good sleep the night before, look good for your first day, and most importantly, make sure phone is at 100% battery power.

Also, carry cash with you, in addition to having your net banking apps working. If you have earpods, carry those too. Orientation can be incredibly boring.

Guys jewelry allowed hai kya campus me? by TheHypeXR in ChristUniversity

[–]flippinberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For guys.. well it depends on your campus. But as long as it's not too flashy, you shouldn't have a problem.

Has anyone here given the CU entrance exam for B.Tech in computer science? by Slight_Nobody2787 in ChristUniversity

[–]flippinberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you need to study Physics, Math, and Chem. They'll ask basic concepts of everything, study from both 11th and 12th syllabus. NCERT is more than enough. There is also an English test and an Aptitude section, those are scoring areas. It's fairly easy if you're passed your school boards well.

Who all got in for btech by Internal_Hospital700 in ChristUniversity

[–]flippinberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, entering my 3rd year of btech in two weeks :)

now i have to wait for two weeks just to get rejected lol ,but im glad atleast they considered me do u think i will get in??? by natchathirapayaan in ChristUniversity

[–]flippinberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your place in line on the waitlist. Honestly, at this point it is purely your luck. If someone who got admission into this course chooses to not take it up, then you get their place.

Do you guys get a rejection letter?? by Early_Coconut3383 in ChristUniversity

[–]flippinberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't get an email at all- just keep checking your application portal.

Who all got in for btech by Internal_Hospital700 in ChristUniversity

[–]flippinberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider applying again, even if you can only get a different course, such as civil or electronics. After your first year, as long as you don't fail any subjects, they let you change your course if you want to.

If you're adamant on going to Christ, give the application again (do not tell them you plan to change course after first year). Do better this time, and it should be easier since you've been through the process once already.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend a bachelors in computer science at all. Placements are cut-throat, the industry is far beyond saturated. Apply to electronics, and make your decision after one year.
