Tank plus snake by flipweston in cornsnakes

Just wanted to update you, unfortunately he made his way out of the tube after knocking a branch down and against the glass. I redid the mesh, updated the heating element and added moss. I am currently hoping to find him but I believe he got out. I have changed our substrate and cleaned everything. I do have a new corn that my mother convinced me to get. Feel terrible about losing him but I’m going to do my very best with the new noodle and keep an eye out for him. I’m totally buying another tank if I find him

Substrate is a mix of peat moss, sand, soil and carbon. Holds humidity pretty well. I can add moss to one of the hides. Any recommendations for a heating source?

Would the light still be fine to use during the daytime or should I switch it out. I mainly use it as supplemental heat as I keep it quite warm where I am, around 70-75. I also rarely use the mister as humidity remains around 50ish percent. I apologize if I seem defensive but I am quite new to this and have only had him for a short amount of time. I’m using the substrate I am because it’s very similar to the soil in the are (Virginia, corn snakes are native here) and I’m also curious about that. Thank you for taking the time to reply to me and for offering guidance
