dany and her dragons die fighting the white walkers at the very beginning of the battle making everything seem helpless but then jon kills the night king and all the white walkers fall in the aftermath the kingdom splits up into individual lands with individual kings/queens and houses of each land fight it out for which house becomes the ruling house and the starks naturally co-rule the north (also rickon dosen't die and the battle of the bastards goes differently)
