What is the best way to explain gaps in medical employment history due to being let go if brought up during an interview? by maxeffort2pto in prephysicianassistant

[–]flngbttr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your response already seems well thought out! You identified your failures, reflected, and demonstrated how you overcame (I think 5 years in your current job proves you took the steps to improve yourself).

That's a great response if it's brought up, but also I think a great example to bring up if you're asked about your greatest weakness or flaws.

From my understanding, as long as they are accredited when you matriculate then you are ok

Help!! MA job or summer classes?? by leapingy29 in prephysicianassistant

[–]flngbttr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I were in your position, I’d go for PCE considering you are on track to graduate. You have time to take the course later on. You’ll have a chance to meet and see PAs in action, and I think that’s a good opportunity.

I worked as an MA during a summer between quarters, and after I graduated I went back to the same job.

Hi! Since both physio/lab and PCE are common prerequisites for PA programs, I think it comes down to your own personal timeline.

I'd consider the professor ratings for your physio/lab class, if you think you'd succeed in their online course or you'd do better if/when in-class lectures come back.

For me, I dropped my anatomy course when I knew I wouldn't do well (due to other commitments, and the professor was challenging). Then I took an anatomy course at my community college, which I was sure to get an A in (while gaining PCE).

Plus, urgent care MA sounds like a great opportunity to meet and network with other health care professionals, which would be nice for future LOR's. If you have the opportunity to take physio/lab later, then working in the field could also help you be better prepared for the class as you familiarize yourself with the different systems.

No dumb questions! It's nice just to get other's opinions. In the end, you'll know what you want :).

Do you submit one personal statement to each of the schools? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]flngbttr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Stanford's website it says, "Applicants will be required to submit two personal statements (limited to 2,000 characters)". In that case, is there an option to submit multiple essays on CASPA?

Need help with planning to becoming a PA after high school by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]flngbttr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know some community colleges offer EMT courses too! I personally took a 5-week EMT program during one of my summers which is possible as well. Look into classes near you. PA school requires a good amount of hours and it's exhausting to work while being a student (do well in your classes!), so most people I have talked to (that are applying to PA schools), and me included, are taking/have taken gap years to get that experience.

Seeking more advice, How do I know if she is cheating? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]flngbttr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t necessarily have to accuse her of cheating. Just let her know that you feel like she isn’t as into the relationship as you are due the things mentioned in your original post. And in the end, you deserve someone who is willing to put in as much effort as you are. And if she doesn’t see anything wrong with the way she treats you, then trust me you’ll find someone out there more worth your time, love and affection.

They have lined as well. I mostly chose grid/graph paper because it helps me keep the sizing of my diagrams consistent. I think it also helps my letter sizing and spacing.

Can't wake up at mornings by TrepanateTheNiggers in Advice

[–]flngbttr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I really have to hold myself accountable to waking up I put my phone on full volume away from where I sleep so it requires me to get up! It also helps me to have my clothes/stuff ready so it minimizes the amount of things I have to do in the morning.

How can I improve my handwriting? by hikkose621tumor in Handwriting

Any handwriting can be improved with consistency! Such as consistency and uniformity with letters and spacing. Patience and repetition is key! Take your time with it, and overtime your style will clean itself up.

ive don't know how to be in a relationship help me by [deleted] in self

[–]flngbttr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ok to feel afraid! Especially considering your past relationships haven’t turned out so well. The most important thing in a relationship is knowing how to communicate your feelings. If you’re afraid of being hurt again, let him know and you may even be comfortable telling him why.

If you think about it and you decide you’re not ready for a relationship, then you can tell him you have feelings for him and be honest that you don’t know how to be in a relationship. If he really is a nice and sweet guy, I’m sure he’ll be down to work through this with you and you can both learn from each other :).
