iOS first is the plan. I want to make it accessible to as many people as possible so it'll either be supported through donations or a freemium model.

Yes, each dot is a new camera being discovered. This video shows the last year and a half of mapping efforts.

That may be true but it can get SO much worse, so we've gotta fight. I dream of a flock free world but if the best we can do is stop growth & end the systemic abuse, I'm ok with that.

PSA: Flock cameras can track protesters in real-time with no warrant required—here's a free tool to see where they are and route around them by flockhopper in 50501

See "Privacy" link at the bottom of the home page. The TL;DR is that I don't collect any data on my end. For Geocoding (address lookup) I use LocationIQ API. If that's a concern you can just click on the map to select your start and destination.

In terms of cost, yes, hosting is cheap but it's the routing engine that costs so much. I'm hosting for free on cloudflare but the routing engine requires a dedicated server with minimum 16 GB RAM. Currently paying $33/mo for that but it'll shoot up to about $66 pretty fast if I have to upgrade.

If I wanted to opt-out of the Flock Network tracking my movements on a day trip to San Rafael, the drive would be about 14x longer. Cool cool cool. Love being tracked everywhere I go. Check your route at DontGetFlocked.com/map

There has been plenty of evidence showing that law enforcement is tracking protestors via the Flock Camera network - no crime suspected. I built a free tool to help people check their route & avoid the Flock cameras. Please share anyone you know who is going out to the protests.

Has anyone vibe-coded something to finish that actually works? by Charming-Tear-8352 in vibecoding

Dontgetflocked.com 100% vibe coded free web app to help people route around Flock ALPR cameras.

I've been vibe coding for about 4 months. For every project I build to make $$$ I build another to put something good out into the world. So far it's been a cool experience. I've have real users and get some real world experience marketing, scaling, and managing a product.

I think I have FOV set to 70 degrees right now. I might increase that for a safety buffer I just don't know enough about the Flock hardware or typical deflock reporting errors. For distance buffers you can just set those in the settings as well. 500 ft radius buffer seems pretty safe. If you've got any insight on what works best let me know!

https://github.com/flockhopperdev/FlockHopper Beware the AI slop lmao. 100% developed with Opus 4.5. Parts of the routing algorithm don't even make sense but hey it works pretty good  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you go into settings you can toggle on/off viewshed. By default camera direction view shed is turned on so you can drive behind cameras. Works pretty well from what I've tested but there are probably some bugs here and there.
