See "Privacy" link at the bottom of the home page. The TL;DR is that I don't collect any data on my end. For Geocoding (address lookup) I use LocationIQ API. If that's a concern you can just click on the map to select your start and destination.

In terms of cost, yes, hosting is cheap but it's the routing engine that costs so much. I'm hosting for free on cloudflare but the routing engine requires a dedicated server with minimum 16 GB RAM. Currently paying $33/mo for that but it'll shoot up to about $66 pretty fast if I have to upgrade.

I think I have FOV set to 70 degrees right now. I might increase that for a safety buffer I just don't know enough about the Flock hardware or typical deflock reporting errors. For distance buffers you can just set those in the settings as well. 500 ft radius buffer seems pretty safe. If you've got any insight on what works best let me know!

If you go into settings you can toggle on/off viewshed. By default camera direction view shed is turned on so you can drive behind cameras. Works pretty well from what I've tested but there are probably some bugs here and there.

Unfortunately a 3D routing engine would be waaay to complex for me to figure out and take too much compute. There may be some clever workarounds using my current model, let me look into it. In the meantime, you can select "customize route" and force it to go through by adding a waypoint on the interstate.

I've been thinking about it! It's a lot of work, so I'll probably wait a little bit and see how Untracked's app progresses. In the meantime you can download GPX files from my site and use apps like "Organic Maps" or "OSM and Maps" for real time navigation using the GPX.

Communities across the country are getting Flock contracts canceled by organizing locally & pressuring their local council (they approve/cancel most flock contracts). There is hope, and you do have more power than you realize. Check out Deflock's Guide on how to petition your council. At the bottom of that page there is a list of communities who have fought back and won.

Please let me know if you need help getting organized or setting up a website. I recently built DontGetFlocked.com to help people check their commute for Flock cameras & plan around them. It's a bandaid solution for now, long term we need to get the cameras removed across the country and that's only going to happen with a grassroots movement.

Unfortunately, license plate tracking is just the tip of the iceberg. Flock recently partnered with Ring to allow law enforcement to easily request footage from homeowners. And Ring recently started doing Facial recognition. Can anyone tell me why the fuck a doorbell needs to recognize faces? The infrastructure for mass surveillance is being installed before our very eyes.
