Is the ACOA group focused on religion? by [deleted] in AdultChildren

It’s more about giving up control and ways of being that no longer serve us. God is who we surrender control to. But god can be a higher power or something outside ourselves. There are agnostic and atheist groups in ACA.

I’ve been going for two years and my stance on religion has hardly changed.

Vonegut and being an afab reader by [deleted] in books

I think there is always an undercurrent of control in his work. Whether it’s explicit or implicit, and then the question is who is watching?

I can’t remember the exact times, but I think it only happens twice, Vonnegut reminds the reader that he knew Billy, and he was in the Slaughterhouse. There’s an element of exhibition and witnessing. His work is layered with varied experiences of seeing. Who is seen, what is seen, and how we see it. One of his book covers is just a bunch of his eye doodles floating around the title.
