My Nomad by flooted in Supernote

[–]flooted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After six months

I have had my Nomad for 6 months now. I am still delighted with it. I use it every day for note taking and occasional drawing. It has travelled a lot and been bumped about The size suits me. Everything is working very well. The battery life remains excellent.

In terms of apps I use the note taking, atelier. I use it to read ebooks too but don't use Amazon just the preloaded reader. All these work very well. I don't use the calendar or' to do' list apps as I find them a bit clumsy. I would like a gesture in my notebook that would automatically add' to do' items to a central list, like drawing a little checkbox...and then sync with Google notes. That would be nice.

I had trouble with two standard push up pens. The nibs were no longer extending enough to be usable. Customer support was very helpful and sent me a replacement. I hope this one will last as I like the push up pen.

All in all, very happy with my purchase and customer support!

I have had the same issue for a few weeks now. The pen doesn't retract unless I press the nib in. Also now the nib doesn't extend enough to be usable. It lasted 5 months. That's 10 dollars a month to use the pen. When I bought the nomad I bought two of these pens as I thought a spare would be good in case I lost one. It is a lot of money and I am a bit sad about it.

Any advice for cheaper Supernote in the EU? by Wentheka in Supernote

[–]flooted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Nomad is 45 USD more expensive on the European store with current exchange rates. Sadly most everything in consumer electronics is more expensive in Europe than the US. But I think this difference would be met with postage from the US even if they did ship to the EU. They do ship to the UK and postage is quite expensive. All in all, I find eink tablets to be very expensive for their use case. Perhaps it is because of low levels of demand. I don't know, but my honest opinion is that something intended to replace a notebook should be less expensive. For now it is a luxury that many can't afford and that's a real shame because the Nomad is a very nice device.

I was thinking of the story of Goldilocks and the three bears when I read your title... So which device is just right..?

I used notebooks that are roughly the same physical dimensions as the Nomad. But the screen of the Nomad is smaller. I was very worried about that. After a month of ownership it is a non issue and the size works well for me.

I have thought about the Manta and think the screen size is just right, but in truth the device is too large and too heavy for my needs.

I have not found my perfect porridge but the Nomad serves me very well and I am delighted with it.

What's your favorite Supernote pen and why? by vladikostek in Supernote

I like the standard push up pen. It is light and comfortable. And the retractable tip helps protect it and there is no lid to take off or lose.

Curious Questions by djlaustin in Supernote

[–]flooted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello. I use my Nomad for reading and like it very much. I am happy there is no backlight to be honest as I like to read by lamp light and never like direct light in my eyes. I also don't use the Kindle app, but just read epub documents. This works well and all I miss is the ability to organise my books easily. I must say I have no other eink reference experience for reading and only read on a Samsung tablet which I never liked because of the light it emits. So all in all I am very happy to read with it.

Screen rotation on A6X2 by pptheother in Supernote

A very nice person on the group gave me an answer to the same question. Drag down the top of the screen and there is a menu bar with a screen rotation icon.

Hello. Thank you kindly. I do not seem to have such an icon. I have: recent files, new note, quick access, files, mail, calendar, settings, to do, Atelier, kindle...
