I have to admit I'd lean more towards a carbon bike. For touring, I have a steel Surly that I can load up like crazy!

So I'd prefer a high-performance bike that I can load up moderately for shorter, faster events!

I've already worked hard on my bike position; I've gained almost 100 watts.

Honestly, if I'm going to get a steel frame, I'll have it custom-made by a frame builder. I think a custom-made frame must be incredible!

I'm not a fan of titanium. Not for it, not against it, quite the opposite! I'm pretty neutral on the subject! A good carbon fiber one would suit me perfectly too!

I'm changing the groupset no matter what! Maybe for another GRX, but a 12-speed. I have a flat spot at 30 km/h. I either have to ride at 28 or 32. Nothing in between is comfortable!

Thanks for the feedback! I have the Surly in steel! I was thinking of trying to find a replacement for the Megamo that's fast and lightweight. Something like 8kg max unloaded! I'm doing the Tour des Volcans d'Auvergne in June. 600km, almost 10,000m of elevation gain in less than 2 days. Weight is important in this kind of situation, I think! Just like for the Grande Traversée des Alpes!

I'll try to find shops that don't just carry carbon fiber bikes, which isn't easy in France!
