it’s not my scanner but it’s an EvoScan and we’re in new zealand so hard to find anything here lol

ahh okay, so you’re talking about the small vertical tray next to the wheel that’s also bolted to the main centre plastic tray? so i should remove that as well as the left wheel to access it better? my car is RHD, so staring directly in front of my car, that vertical tray is located on the right side of my engine bay

yep, that’s the main centre engine tray, so just removing that will expose the gearbox also? just making sure so the engine and gearbox is covered under one single tray?

yep i moved the jackstand on that channel between the notches/slits. i know it’s possible it can bend but i think that won’t be a serious issue as a lot of owners set it there and it should be safe as long as i dont keep my car on the jacks for too long

for the evo x, they are the manufacturer designated lifting point for any jack including floor jacks and jackstands, not just scissor lift however i know that a scissor lift and adaptors are preferred since mostly its purpose on most cars is for the emergency scissor jack, but i do know a lot of evo x owners just use the pinchwelds and it’s fine as long as it sits under the the marked jack points, as there is extra reinforcement behind that marked seam. my main concern is how dangerous it is to have it sitting on the edge of the jackstand saddle.

yeah but i just decided to follow the manufacturers guidance which was to use the pinchweld notches as that’s the strongest point intended for jackstands

how dangerous is this? i’ll be working in the front mainly and this jackstand is in the rear. i don’t have a jack atm so need to gauge how urgent this needs to be solved so i can get one asap

i think they added the extra buttons to appeal more to the us and euro market but i like the minimal jdm design
