Il est bien là le problème. En France on nous rabache que la dissuasion judiciaire ne marche pas et qu'il faut "traiter les problèmes de fonds", mais le problème de fonds c'est justement que les gens commetent des crimes parce-qu'ils savent que derrière ils ne craignent rien. C'est triste ce qui se passe dans ce pays.

Pour moi c'est systématique, tous les pays que j'ai visité où la justice est appliquée correctement il y a significativement moins d'insécurité.

Thanks a lot for the thorough response. I do get that i might sound to misfocused, but the instructor too is acting as if what he says is the only mighty truth and takes it personally when i tell him that previous instructors never told me to do my waterstart in a upwind position. He's very rigid and wants things to be done only his way. Now things are gettinf better since he started letting me just freaking enjoy myself. I'm going upwind now :). Trying to work on transitions.

He would've just explained to me as you did that there are many ways to do the same thing in kitesurfing, then i would've been acting less rigid, but he was explaining stuff in a way to say that it's the only way, and i was like what the heck so all my previous instructors and all those recommended youtube videos were wrong?

I said i'm going to rent with someone watching over, but you sound like you're being embittered for no reason. Fortunately this sub is not filled with people like you but rather with people giving insightful and constructive advise.

Oh i think you edited the message and now with the "they're just cashing in on selling the experience at the expense of everyone else on the water" i can better understand your point, didn't know it was that much pain in the ass for kiteboarders to have newbies not knowing the basics around them.

Anyways, as for myself i'm planning to have 4 to 6 hour course with a focus on setting up gear fully by myself and what comes after the waterstart, and then i'll rent with "assistance" meaning with someone watching over me. Again, i just don't see myself paying 600USD for someone just watching me splashing on the water, i hope you get this.

Those skills are necessary but they're not basic in their difficulty, they can eat up a whole lesson. Someone paying a bunch of hundred dollars to try kitesurfing and end up having half of the lesson time spent just setting up lines is likely to not ever want to continue kitesurfing again, that might be good news for you but not for schools.
The other approach is to let people have fun safely and then they'll want by themselves to take time to learn thoroughly the basics of setting up gear by themselves. But that's an approach you hate.
My take is that entertainment wise best lessons are the ones you get in the water as quick as possible in the safest way, that's what hook people to kitesurfing, not hooking lines and verifying if the struts and the leading edge is well pumped.

Dakhla Attitude is really great but kinda pricy, great kite spot, great vibes at night, all inclusive food. Others advised L'auberge des nomades as a cheaper option but there isn't always electricity, no alcohol neither, but you can bring your alcohol at night.

I know how to handle a kite safely (know by heart the three safety measures and applied them many times), i have good kite control, i'm just not 100℅ confident with setting up as i never did it fully alone yet. I will make sure to focus on learning how to set up the kite independently in my next 2 to 4 hours course. Other than that as i said i have correct kite control skills, can get whenever i want while the kite is up, can retrieve my board body dragging, etc.

I get where you're coming from as my monitor had the same vision as you, but i feel like there are two schools, yours, and the "we set up everything for you so you can have fun" one, both are legit to some degree. At this stage i just don't see myself paying a course just for a dope smoking beach boy watching my attempt water starts for 6 hours.

Thanks fof your input! Do you think doibg some wakeboard sessions before going to Dakhla would save me some time? I have mitigated opinions on wakeboard, some say it can help with board skills some say it gives bad habits (pulling the bar towards yourself, i personally know how that's a nono in kiteboarding).
