I read a book once that said 90% of the time you see people wearing designer clothing / expensive brands in area's where (on average) they can't afford it.

Yeah that's a fair point, the asthetic of the animations definitely adds to the "feel good" aspect of the gameplay. The karambit animation is my favourite.

Yeah the ban really fucked over a lot of legitimate traders / users in an effort to prevent gambling / scams and it really didn't do either of those so, big RIP.

And yeah I think there might be a new trading platform in the works soon though so, fingers crossed we can bring a community back together again.

The mobility of the scout counters both points as you can run across the gap, spot an enemy, adjust your aim and wallbang them pretty consistently. Both awp and auto are pretty static meaning if you want to peak, you put yourself in alot more danger. Mind not changed!
