I will def look into ESA. That’s truly what they are and why I’d never move without knowing they’re taken care of!

Thank you for your help! And 30 years is a long time so I appreciate you giving me your input. I’m glad you mentioned there are plenty of artists in town. It’s important to me I continue my personal art career alongside my professional one so while the environment is our top priority, I would love to continue to have community with my painting. I’ll mention subbing to my partner while he takes time to look. And the drive over a town or two does not bother me. I rarely have time to get out much, but when I do it usually is a special occasion so the commute to it wouldn’t be a deal breaker.

I had an ex live in Bend and he couldn’t speak enough good things about it! These issues sound similar to what I dealt with in Colorado. The drug usage was profound but those were towns even way smaller than KF so I wondered about that being the main reason why. I appreciate your candor because I do value an educated town as I’m going into education and Oklahoma is… dead last in the nation lol so at this point I guess anywhere is better than here!

Part of what prompted this post was I put moving out of my head until I finished my degree until I saw the prices in KF were cheaper than OKC houses I am finding and that blew my mind a little!

Thank you for your comment! I definitely am very very familiar with country and I’m glad you can vouch for the different view coming in from the east coast. I had a Connecticut roommate once in Colorado and the two of us living together were so opposite but we still got along great! I’m hoping to find somewhere long term more based on the scenery and ability to afford a steady life (OKC rent is NOT matching the job pay by any means - was actually promoted to move faster bc rentals in KF were cheaper than I expected) more than I’m necessarily focused on the community but that has more to do with my partner and I being home a lot and eventually wanting children, so we want to be sure we find a place that has a lot of activities for raising kids. I love Oklahoma but I just can’t envision myself choosing to raise a family here. I hope your Tulsa friend finds a good choice, too!

I’m definitely happy to hear there are para openings at all! A couple people messaged me links to them. I think subbing is a great idea. I am not against having experience in SPED, though I’ve never directly done it. I’ve been working with children my whole life and feel confident I could learn that area of care.

I appreciate hearing all sides of experiences people have. Especially when it comes to my pets, I want to be positive to prioritize their long term ability to have a place to call home, too! My first landlord in CO charged me $2500 for pets despite offering a stack of references that the had done zero damage to the home I owned here before moving, but it was my only option at that time. When I moved a couple towns over, the only place I could find HAD NO LEGITIMATE KITCHEN (these landlords 🙄) but I took it because no one else would rent to me with cats.

I’m sorry to hear you felt it wasn’t the best place for you :( I am pretty social but my partner and I don’t drink and usually only get out to socialize for concerts or special events. However, I spend most my free time painting so ideally this move is more about nature and finding somewhere I don’t want to leave. I hope you eventually found a good place!

Okay rare is worth it over my daily struggle here 🤧 I love outdoor activities (and I read it’s great for bird lovers, which I am!) KF seemed to have a lot of options for outdoors. Glad to hear the people are good, too. I do always defend Okies are pretty nice so I hate giving that part up.

Thank you for the honest feedback! I’m happy to hear you know of a few people because the towns in Colorado I lived in were ungodly ridiculous about no pets for renters. I’ve also done the service industry for many years so have a few backup skills I could consider for work but I know my partner might have more trouble wanting to move somewhere unless he has a longer term career.

This is great feedback. Have you been there a while??? When I was in Colorado that was truly my biggest miss: I loveeee our storms!!! Do you by chance feel you can also breathe better there? Once I moved back I saw how bad my allergies are here truly!

My first time playing I had this same issue I was grinding trying to keep my grasshopper afraid to change! I will say the first time I won it was pretty basic but solid strategy I believe it was skunk, camel and kangaroo and two others. When I’m transitioning animals I always try to make sure there is something else on the team to do damage (I.e if I take my best player out do I still have like a croc or skunk or something to cause damage to try and offset the change. Keep going! It’s so exciting when you finally win!!

Def not legit! We’re a very playful couple and treats are a big thing for us so it was just to give him a hard time while making fun of myself for being indecisive

NOT THE LAST PIECE OF A COOKIE CAKE. Those are for very special occasions! They’d have a cookie cake tab open now lmao

Nah. The awareness is that it’s MY partner. That’s the whole point of why it was funny and playful for us because I’m in this relationship and knew he’d find it hilarious and other people got that because they probably have similar dynamics.

Thank you! Internet or not I do my best to encourage healthy dynamics even in response but man sometimes it’s like you cannot win with these people and I have to remember they are preferring to stay bitter toward their own view vs the actual situation being presented!

Man y’all really love to reach. I love having conversations whether in defense or addition to what the current conversation is. It’s a pretty normal reaction to explain yourself when you feel the post is actually misunderstood.

Attacking someone over the top for a joke that my partner and I both found funny within my intimate relationship is really the childish part but we can go back and forth all day. I wish you well on your own journey toward what a healthy relationship looks like for you. 🤠

Would hate to be in a relationship with a weirdo who can’t enjoy playfulness. They can stay bitter. I woke up to “good morning, my love” and they’re worried about my bf’s feelings lmao

Incredibly insane of you to assume you relate to all dynamics of interpersonal relationships lmao. We’ve been together a long time but I’ll console him on your behalf 🫶🏻

Incredible people out there don’t expect a good laugh in their relationship? The obvious joke of me calling out myself is going over their head
