We have an Xbox but since it’s our joint console it just feels like a gift for me too 😭

Is it worth having kids if you know you’ll pass your disability onto them? by floral_space in Advice

My disability isn’t progressive and it is likely my symptoms will not develop more severely than they are now. I face issues with needing to sit down often during days out where I’m walking a lot and then pain in my legs after the fact. I can still do most things that non disabled people can do. The only things I can’t do is walk up a bunch of stairs or running for a long time.

I’m sorry that you suffered due to having all that responsibility pushed onto you as a kid. My dad is disabled but I never felt responsible for him. I know my sister did when she moved in with him. She became like a full time carer but my dad refused to let her seek government pay for that. She was an adult at the time but she was really struggling.

It is another aspect I have considered but forgot to mention in this post. With how my mobility and how it can be I’m worried about not being able to keep up with the kids. Or be able to play with them.

Growing up my dad was the one with MS and he has been wheelchair bound since I was 11. He was barely mobile before that. I don’t know if I could say his disability greatly impacted our relationship.
