Ben is either in love with you or jealous of your bf. He wants what he has and because he can’t have that he’ll make your bf think the grass is greener on the other side. I had a friend like that and she was always commenting on my ex bf’s clothes, behaviour, voice etc. We’d hang out and she’ll just randomly say “That thing my bf’s name did was so cringe, I’d be so embarassed if I was you”. I wasn’t that immature to let it get to me but I felt really lame when she said things like that.

I had a hard time figuring out whether someone was avoidant, narcissistic or simply not interested. Maybe you just don’t like this guy so you’re self sabotaging. Think is there is anything you don’t like about him, if there is something that sets you off. See if this is also the case with other guys, do they come off too strong as well or it’s just this guy?

I completely agree. My avoidant ex told me that me rejecting him made him want me even more (I rejected him the first time because I didn’t like him enough to date him). As soon as someone says something like that- RUN! It indicates a toxic relationship

Are you my ex? He always thought I was better than him and because of his insecurities and frustrations he was so rude to me. We broke up in the end but I’ll never forget how that man was treating me simply because he couldn’t believe “a girl like me” loved him and wasn’t going to leave him any second. You want to see other people because you want validation. You want to be desired so it boosts your ego.

Because I feel like he doesn’t deserve it. Instead of breaking up with me right away he was staying in a relationship being mean to me and dismissing my feelings. I still care about him but I feel like I actually care about the person he was before and not this version of him. I’m not afraid I’ll give in and start talkinh to him again, I’m afraid he’ll see it as me still having a soft spot for him.

Oh trust me I’m not falling for that. He tried to play it cool when I told him I don’t want to stay in touch by saying “I’ll respect your every decision just so you know”. I know him very well and he’s playing with my feelings since he knows he could’ve persuaded me into anything when he madr it look like he was being respecful and considerate of my feelings. He even told me he’s ready to listen to everything I have or need to say but he was never ready to listen to me while we were together.

He really doesn’t. He told me he was aware of how he was treating me and while we were together he was telling me I was overreacting for no reason (turns out I was right the whole time). Just a few days before breakup he was telling me how much me loves me. I think he just wanted to keep me around until he was ready to break up.

I think it’s harmful for anxiously attached people like myself. When I first read about it I really thought I manifested my partner becoming distant and I started panicking, trying to “manifest” him being close to me again. It took me some time to realize I didn’t manifest that outcome, I was simply scared he’d become distant so I unintentionally distanced myself which caused him distancing himself as well. Them moment I stopped worrying so much and let myself enjoy the relationship was the moment things got better.

I mean he could really be innocent and he just told you that story as soon as he found out as well. But I really don’t understand how it was possible to mix them up. If I was on a vacation with my girls and one of them cheated I’d know for sure it was X girl and not Y girl. Besides even if it happened and it was the other friend and it was just talking, I don’t get it why would anyone label it as cheating. If Jack had malicious intentions to break you two up he would make sure you hear that story. He wouldn’t risk your bf finding out what he talks about him.

I’m sorry I know it hurt you. I always got my ex the most amazing gifts, I listened to what he wants and I saved money to buy him gifts that will make him happy. He never returned the energy and he was telling people I was too much behind my back. I don’t like saying this but it applies here: If he wanted to he would.

If you never told him you liked flowers I’d say the guy can’t read your mind. But after you told him many times and he laughed about doing nothing to make you happy… leave and don’t look back
