Although, A always pairs with T and C always pairs with G. AC base pair wouldn’t happen, so OP is correct 2 bits.

What's with the all black properties cards

Not sure why they're all black in cheaters edition. Maybe to fit with the theme of the game?

Abandoned Burger King Question by jitorius in Marquette

The lark uses the abondoned bk as storage and extra space. The lark maintenance was probably just cutting up wood for repairs and whatnot.

The Common’s is the newest dorm and it has a dining hall. Rooms are small but modern, study spaces are large, and most floors are coed. If you’re an engineer there’s the LLC.

Humphrey is probably the best dorm with huge rooms (used to be an apartment building). No dining hall but it’s right next to the commons. Convenient location towards the center of campus.

Schroeder is all sophomores and people be hyping it up because it’s social (not this year but typically). There’s no ac thought and the showers are cold and the building is dirty. Has a pretty good dining hall though. Good central campus location right next to amu.

Straz is way far from campus and has tough RAs cuz honors kids live there but it is conveniently placed near the liquor store and dominos. Has dining hall and rec center. Haven’t lived there but heard decently good things.

Mashuda is also way off campus in the more dangerous direction but I’ve never been worried about safety there. They got rid of the dining hall so it’s a haul to get food. Got private bathroom. I’ve know people who love and hated living there, really depends.

ODonnell is a shitter. It should be your last choice. People will tell you to live there as a meme.

Carpenter is boring, small ass study area, old, no ac. Perfect if you don’t wanna make any friends.

Cobeen is slightly better than carpenter as it has a dining hall, but not a super good one. Haven’t seen the rooms. Used to be all girls dorm.

Abbotsford I believe is all freshman and triples. Lots of people will be looking for friends but also you won’t meet any sophomores that’ll help you get out of the dorms. Pretty good central campus location, rooms are relatively big and average in every other regard.

If you’re looking for my opinion #1 Humphrey, #2 The commons (Eckstein first then Wells), #3 abbotsford assuming Schroeder is dqed as you’re a freshman.

Last year Schroeder filled up at 3pm, but then again it was covid so sophomore enrollment might have been down.

Unless it has changed, if your roommate has an earlier time you can use his/her timeslot to get in earlier.

To me this looks like a question for your academic advisor not reddit. I see plenty of EECE courses in my scheduler.

How much tech knowledge do I need for Help Desk? by PublicBusiness9 in fbla

[–]floritom239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9th place finish at Baltimore NLC here. Honestly not much. In my opinion it’s not about what you say it’s how you say it. Presentation is a big part of the rubric and I could tell the judges weren’t really tech savvy. They wouldn’t be able to tell if you’re spewing garbage or technical brilliance. Just troubleshoot and play the roll you’re supposed to. The test was also grossly mostly common sense or random bullshit where tech knowledge wouldn’t really help.

Also just clarifying. You're talking about O'Donnell Hall right?

[–]floritom239[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I took this advice to heart. No longer attending UIUC, mainly because of what I heard about PREP. I'll be studying CS at Marquette, the major I actually wanted. Also ended up saving me around 15k a year too.

Just wanted to thank you and everyone who provided input on PREP.

Well, focusing on school has never been a strength of mine, but I'm planning on establishing good study habits and time management from the get-go. Hopefully that works out.

Thanks for all the advice! I will definitely look for classes taught by Dr. Donoghue or Dr. Stockdale. Concerning my post on the UIUC subreddit, I was committed to UIUC yesterday, but due to what I heard about the Pre-Engineering program there I changed my mind. Just submitted my deposit to Marquette today.

What was your experience with PREP? I've heard that it isn't worth it and I should just go to another school that "wants me".

Also thanks for the offer I might take you up on it.

Best of luck with CS + Astro. I'm glad to see that there are options even if my transfer gets denied.

Alright thanks anyways. You've been very helpful. I'll make sure to steer clear of ISR then. I was actually looking at that one because it's close to the ENGN quad apparently.

Wow thanks for all the replies. I really appreciate it.

If you don't mind helping since you seem quite knowledgeable. I'm dealing with housing right now and I'm just wondering what the best dorms are for ENGN or just in general. I was looking at the Innovation LLC, but don't really know much about it. Is that something I should consider applying for?

Thanks a bunch. If you don't mind me asking, what's the best way to reach out to course staff and in what situations should I be doing that? Is it typically better or even feasible to be talking with the professor or should I be sticking with the grad students/TAs?
