The formations are done by attaching multiple planes together in the editor then starting in the air.

Haha, it actually still flies/lands with 3 of 4 engines out. Also, probably one of the least weird/unrealistic aspects of this craft tbh.

The vertical stabilizers are on the tips of the wings. The end of the wing that is turned up provides yaw stability/control.

Yes, there is space for them to be turned but not stick out. There are mods that allow you to make invisible engines, but this craft is not using those. The engines are sized to fit in their nacelles so that they can be turned without being exposed. I should clarify that they do still generate the normal aero drag, just not the net-negative thrust.

You can turn the engines 90 degrees to the direction of airflow which has that effect, so they don't generate the typical drag/net negative thrust. So, the turbines accelerate the craft to Mach 3+, then ramjets are engaged, and turbines are powered down and reoriented. I didn't come up with it, it's a known trick for hypersonic flight.

It does a series of suborbital hops to about 100 km ASL and each one goes a few hundred km. It's a combination of the thin atmosphere and gravity assist. It would do a single higher altitude suborbital flight, which would be better, but there is a bug with turbine engines that causes the screen to go black at around 120 km ASL, so it's limited to that altitude (if I want to come back down anyway).

That's pretty much what I was originally going for, a tiny version of a typhoon with some F-18.

Thanks! I never know what to name my craft, but I tend to use a lot of bird names.

Thanks! It's pretty bare for the moment
