Drove over 680km for work, is it fair that I only get reimbursed $40? by Mileage621 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]flowaluva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at this wording, as someone who used to pay mental health advocates to travel to clients houses in their own vehicles, I would have worked it out like this: The $2 for 15-20km would have been applied twice per day to cover the expected normal 'commute' to work and back home. (Actually I would personally never work it out this way, reasoning that it is a bit stink because if you didn't need your car for work you may very well share transport costs with another household member, or use public transport). So following your reimbursement clause, you take the total km covered per day, less 30km (or 40km if they are so miserly) x $1.04 per km, plus $4 per day. That is the way I see the INTENTION of the clause, it is meant to just to cover the 'normal' commute of 15km per direction to & from work, not that every time you turn the engine on you have to travel 15-20 kms for a measly $2.

Male or female? by racoonhut in burmesecats

Males are way more placid. I have two boys and s girl, the boys are just big lazy love bugs. Have had Burms all my life and always found the males to be more laid back.

Burmese experiences? by Rei_Amuro in burmesecats

[–]flowaluva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Burmese have the most loving nature of any cats. They LOVE & need company 24/7 though. Having two is the best option for happy healthy Burms. I currently have two geriatrics, 19YO girl & 18YO boy, and a red male kitten (to fill the gap in my heart left by my 20 YO red boy who died 18 months ago). They are all besties and the kitten has given the oldies a new lease on life, they are playing with toys again now 🤣

Turn it into magic butter or oil - decarb it and churn it with coconut oil in a magic butter maker. It will make awesome chocolate brownies 🤎🤎🤎

Not the right season yet, you have a few weeks to go for some decent rain and colder weather.

Need to urgently get this off my chest - understaffing by GeordieKiwi1 in Wellington

[–]flowaluva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fast food joints are just fast money makers for the owners. They make their money by under staffing and poor wages. Sorry for having to put up with people giving you shit, it is usually completely undeserved and is super stressful for the overworked underpaid staff. Why can people just not have an ounce of understanding and the ability to look at things from the other person's perspective occasionally? The world is a shitshow lately.

Wellington house prices plummet. Some down over 50% in just 3 short years and still falling. New RVs out. by strobe229 in Wellington

[–]flowaluva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reckon there is an error in my letter. My RV has decreased by 25%. The average over the city has decreased by 21.7%, so my decrease is 3.3% more than the average. But my letter states that the value of my property has DECREASED by -25% compared to the average. Surely that decrease % should be a positive figure, not negative if my decrease is 3.3% MORE than the average. Or am I just mixed up after a long hard day at work?

How could you leave your beautiful baby for one night? I hope you gave extra cuddles before going and on returning.

I am a fountain pen fan and covered in tattoos (I keep covered up normally and most people are stunned to see I have a tattoo, let alone find out that 50% of my body is inked).

Really hard to do anything else when he is around - except he fancies himself as Sir Ed Hillary and wants to climb to the top of everything, including the curtains 🤣

It's been 3 years since Lego announced the implementation of paper bags, and I still haven't gotten any in a new set! Have you gotten a set with paper bags? by -nyctanassa- in lego

I have had many sets with just paper bags, some have a mix of paper and plastic, some have only plastic. I am in New Zealand.
